Today is the last day of the "Dare to Get Dirty" Challenges. Whew! It's been quite a stampin week! I've tried so many different techniques and layouts...and I still haven't been able to complete all of them....yet LOL! I do plan on working on them this week. This first card is for JulieHRR's "One Layer" challenge. There was also an option to step it up a bit by either making it a window card, or a window card with clear acetate. Since I had gotten my acetate out the other day for cwilliams's challenge (translate: I knew where it was LOL!) I decided to make mine a clear acetate window card.
I started with a 4 x 4 square Turquoise card and trimmed the top edge a little (so that the scallop border would show better). I used my Coluzzle to cut the Oval out and added some Black Doodlebug Paper Frills to make an oval border (I added white dots in the center of the flowers with my White gel pen). I stamped the cow (All of these stamps are from A Muse) in Black Stazon onto the acetate and let it dry for a moment or tow. Then I adhered it to the back of the top with Glue dots. You can't see it in this picture, but I added a black flower (I just cut the Doodlebug Frills apart) to each corner to hide the glue dots. I added a white scalloped oval on the inside to make the cow "pop"...and also so I could stamp the moochas grassias stamp on it (I crack up every single time I see these stamps!!!!). I'm not going to add the recipe because I pretty much told you everything I used LOL!
This next card is for Jacksonbelle's "Black & Brown" challenge and mytime's Sketch challenge. I do love this sketch (and you all know how I feel about Brown and Black...LOVE those colors!!) and will probably use it again!
One of the reasons that I like this sketch so much is that it lends itself to layering very well! I have an almost uncontrollable need to layer...not sure why...I just LOVE the look of layers! I always tell myself that it's a good way to use up my smaller scraps (although I never mention to myself that it's because of all those layers that I have those small scraps in the first place)!
I do have one more card to share...and I really hope I can share it tonight (if not, I will post it in the morning). Have a WONDERFUL night! ~Laurie
