I apologize for not getting more projects posted yesterday. I started organizing our school area...and well, I just kept going and going! We won't actually start school for a few more weeks, but now I'm already for when the books/curriculum arrives! One more thing to cross off my list...YAY!
As I was making a note to remind myself of the thank you card I need to finish, something occurred to me. How very blessed I am to "need" so many thank you cards! This is for today's Color Challenge (I actually made it last night, but I was to pooped after a day of cleaning/organizing to post it :-). The colors we're supposed to use are: Sahara Sand, Blue Bayou, & Chocolate Chip. To me, this is such a pleasant and calming color combo. I must say something about Sahara Sand. When it first came out, I was SO disappointed. I had expected it to not be quite as "gray" looking and a little more "khaki-ish". But, for some reason, I have been using this color more and more...and guess what? I really like it! I just needed to get over my pre-conceived ideas about what it should look like to really appreciate it. O.k....enough babbling and on to my card!
For the main focal image (the horse), I started with a piece of Confetti White c.s. and stamped it with the Linen background stamp inked in Sahara Sand. I then lightly sponged some Sahara Sand around the horse. The two main Sahara Sand layers were both stamped with the Sanded background stamp (also inked in Sahara Sand) and then stamped with some coordinating stamps in Blue Bayou. All Confetti White and Sahara Sand layers were also sponged with some Blue Bayou around the edges. I really like this set! In fact, this and the Bronc Buster set are some of my favorites from the catalog!
So, I won't promise to get the other items posted today...but I will try my best!
We usually do get some forest fires around where I live every summer...but this summer has been really bad! This morning, I took a picture off of our front porch...of what should be a clear view of the Horse Prairie Valley. Normally we can see quite far...but as you can tell from the picture, we can barely see the little mountain that is only a mile away. The smoke is so bad right now (it's even worse as I'm typing this) that my throat and eyes burn! Usually the wind blows here like crazy...so the smoke never really just sits here like this. Anyway...enough complaining. Thanks for visiting here today! ~Laurie
