    Peaceful Trees...

Happy Friday!  You know what Friday means...another one of Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenges!  When I sat down to stamp yesterday, I had my new set "Time Well Spent" right there in front of me...waiting for ink.   As hard as tried, though...I just wasn't "feelin' it".  So, I finally set it aside (I'll try again later...) and reached for this adorable little set "Merry & Bright".  While looking at this set, I remembered the new Figgy Pudding DP from Basic Grey that I recently received and thought that it would be a perfect fit!

This card was actually very easy to make!  The tree is colored with Stampin' Write markers and popped up on Dimensionals.  The strip underneath the ribbon is actually Vellum c.s. layered onto Soft Sky.  I know it's hard to see this in the photo, but IRL it really softens the Soft Sky and I think it adds to the "winterness" of this card.  (I know...winterness is not a real word...LOL).

To see more inspiring samples, make sure to check out what Beate, Charmaine, Jenn, Lori, Mary Jo, & Sharon have come up with!

I will be back this weekend with some goodies to give away!!!  Have a fabulous Friday!  ~Laurie

I am right there with you. I have a flower done from "Time well spent" and need to turn it into a card. But for my sample, I used something else.
Gorgeous Christmas card! Have a wonderful weekend.
    Hugs and smiles

What a great card, love the DP paper.

Dang, I've got to get out my Figgy paper and use it -- it's wonderful here, Laurie! Great colors, cute little tree, and I love that little peace flag you made!

Beautiful, beautiful, Laurie! Sorry you've had lots going on...and not good...hope y'all are on the uphill swing. :) Hugs!

Laurie, gorgeous card! That tree looks so good with the DP!

Super cute! I love the vellum layer and the paper tag! Great ideas!

Yes...the stamp and the paper are "a perfect fit". I gotta get some of that paper. You did a great job with Beate's sketch. Thanks for sharing.

This is such a nice card. I absolutely love that Designer Paper. I have it sitting on my work table just waiting to be used. I used another style of the 6x6 Figgy collection on my card from this morning. Thanks for all your creations.

Absolutely GORGEOUS. I love that tree.

I have to confess that after looking at all your friends' creations for the challenge, your card, once again, is certainly the BEST!! Your level of creativity and eye for color is outstanding! I MUST check your blog everyday to see what's new and I am never disappointed with anything I've seen you create! Thank you!

Love this one. I have that paper and really need to get into it instead of just smiling at it :) I love your little "peace" flag. So cute!

So Love the blue's and green's together, I never would have thought to try that, the pp is perfect for this!

Cute! I am hoarding my DP, as Janet said, I need to use it instead of just looking at it! I love the little Peace tag!

Wonderful card! The DP is so yummy! You nailed this sketch! Deb

Oh, this is beautiful! I love how you used the little tree from Merry & Bright with this Basic Grey paper, and your use of the vellum to soften the Soft Sky is fabulous!

VERY pretty! Love the red sparkle on the tree and also the vellum over the soft sky.......and of course the *winterness* brrrrrrrrr LOL!!

Ha, I just used that paper to alter some wood letters. LOVE that card! And no matter what anyone tells you, winterness IS A WORD. I'm all for making things up.
