Embrace Life...
Happy Friday! I am so glad to see the weekend! This past week has been especially busy for us...as I'm still trying to catch up from being gone. We don't have any particular plans this weekend...but I am hoping to get a nap in somewhere...hehehee!
I made this card for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #36. What a FUN sketch!!!!
I decided to pull out my Embrace Life set (it's been way to long since I've used it!) because I thought the smaller panel would be perfect to showcase the flowers in this set. I stamped this using the Faux Linen technique (click on the link to see Beate's tutorial). I wanted more color on the flowers...so I embossed them on Shimmery White c.s., watercolored them using a watercolor brush and Classic ink pads, cut them out, & mounted them onto the River Rock colored stem.
After the flowers were glued on, I added some Crystal Effects. I love how it adds so much depth to the colors!
Here is a closeup of the flowers....
The rest of the card is pretty simple...just a little distressing and sponging. :-) To see more samples with this sketch, check out what Beate, Cambria, Charmaine, Jenn, Lori, Mary Jo, & Sharon have made!
I hope you all have a wonderful day and a relaxing weekend! ~Laurie
