    Cupcake Trifecta...

Happy Saturday!  A couple of friends (Tosha & Carolyn) decided to issue a "Cupcake Challenge"!  We were to use the "Hey There Cupcake" stamp set by Stampendous, and the Cupcake paper by Basic Grey.  When Tosh first proposed this challenge, I actually didn't hear anything after the word "cupcake"....I was already in!!  LOL!

    Cupcake_trifecta

I stamped three cupcakes onto Shimmery White c.s. using Adirondack Espresso ink and then colored them in using my Copic markers.  I then used my circle Nestabilities to cut out/emboss three circles (I'm not sure how I managed before Nestabilities LOL!).  After they were cut/embossed and adhered onto the scalloped circles, I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the frosting!  The cute little tag was was made with the Spellbinders Tag Trio...I just added some bling and fibers to it.

I actually started this card with the patterned blue paper covering the whole card...but I felt like my cupcakes got lost in the pattern.  So, I trimmed the patterned paper (adding a little wavy border to one side).  Then, I felt like the plain white background was...well...too plain.  I decided adding some embossed stripes (using my Scor-Pal to emboss them) was just what it needed.  Finally, I added some of these adorable Sparkle Blossoms (from Hero Arts) to embellish my cupcakes...and add a little contrast color.

All of these supplies are available from Stamper's Dream.  Just a quick note...in case you aren't familiar with Michelle (owner of Stamper's Dream)...she has amazing customer service and very fast shipping!  I almost always have my orders within two days!

Here's a close-up picture of one of the cupcakes.  I just love the subtle sparkle of the Frosted Lace Stickles!

Maker sure you check out the VERY gorgeous cards that Carolyn (a.k.a. Cammie) and Tosha have created!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend...and just in case I don't make it back here to post before tomorrow, I wish you all a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
