Hi! Are you enjoying your weekend? My youngest son is turning four on Monday, but we are having his party tomorrow. Sooo...we are doing all the "oh my gosh people are coming over so we better clean this place up" stuff! LOL! (How is it that even when you're gone the house gets even dirtier??)
I wanted to quickly come and share a peek of a little project that I have posted over on the Verve Stamps blog for this month's Project Parade Challenge. The theme is "Home for the Holidays", which can include cards, gifts, or decor. Since I'm still trying to work my way to the end of my "gifts to make" list, I chose to make a gift.
I re-purposed a tin to hold some homemade gourmet coffee drink mix. I decorated the top using Verve's O Christmas Tree set. The blue part of the topper opens up to reveal decorated instructions so the recipient knows just how much mix to add.
For even more pictures (including pictures of the topper open) and the recipe for the Spanish Mocha gourmet coffee mix, head on over to the Verve Stamps blog! :-)
Before I go, I want to share a picture I took off of our front porch! Even though it's not our first snow of the season, it is the first snow that is accompanied with the normal cold Montana winters (the temperature outside when I took this photo was only 2 degrees Fahrenheit!!).
Doesn't it just LOOK cold? Brrrrr! :-)
Okay...back to cleaning for me! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! ~Laurie

Thankful we don't have snow yet in the Northern part of the state, but it won't be long. Darn it.
Super cute topper for that tin. I love it with lil cinimon sticks...very warm and inviting!

What a darling tin gift. I love the eentsy teensy little flowers on top. They are the sweetest! Oh and I LOVE the photo from your front porch. What a lovely pastoral scene, although you're right, it does look quite cold. I hope you soaked up and bottled up some of the summer's warmth.

Laurie this is FANTASTIC!! I just love this idea! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I think I might have to make a few of these and fill with cocoa! Of course, on Maui, cocoa sounds silly, but it still makes it feel like the holidays!!
And WHAT!?!? 2 degrees? I was complaining the other night because it was already getting down into the mid 60's at night here!! LOL! My brother lives in Whitefish and works on the Mountain in the winter and is excited about what he says is going to be a "Totally AWESOME winter" this year! I can't believe that Maui boy can survive that kind of weather!! Crazy.

A beautiful tin Laurie the top is so beautiful. Love the picture of the snow, its beats living hear in Australia at the moment we are in spring and having summer weather of 40 Celsius not sure what that is in Fahrenheit but I know its hot.

Beautiful, Laurie! I love doing altered projects. I had to laugh at Gabriela's comment about soaking up the summer sun to save for the cold winter months....if your summer was like the MN summer...we are getting it in Sept. & Nov.!! We had no summer this year, but we are being blessed with an above average temperature Fall. I loved your photo...just not looking forward to winter. LOL Thanks for sharing!

Hi laurie, I've followed your blog for a good while now, it's fab, just like the view from your door, I wish I had one half as nice. I live in the city over here in England, so I look out onto buildings and busy roads.
