Happy Monday friends! I mentioned in my past post that things have been pretty busy here in our household! One of the things that has kept us busy is my oldest son's piano competition/recital. J is in 6th grade and loves (and I do mean LOVES) sports! He is naturally athletic and excels at it. On top of being a sports nut, he is a straight A student as well (the photo below is of him in front of his science fair board). Surprisingly, another passion of his is playing the piano! It surprised DH & I so much when a few years ago he came up to us and asked if he could take piano lessons! I mean, what kid does that?? LOL! Anyway, he did very well at the piano competition/recital this weeknd and we couldn't be more proud!!
Thanks for listening to my ramblings this morning! Sometimes I guess I am just amazed. DH & I truly feel like we have THE BEST kids and we couldn't be more blessed!
I know you didn't come here to listen to me ramble, so I will get on with it. :-) I do actually have something stampy to share with you, but it does tie in to the story above. J's piano teacher is absolutely fantastic!! She is inspiring, motivational, encouraging, and wise all at the same time! She understands and respects J's reserved personality...and he really comes alive when playing. I truly believe that so much of that is because of her! Soooo, this is a little card I made for her to express our thanks...
I used the Musical Backgrounds set along with the Fancy Phrases set (both from Waltzingmouse Stamps) to create my card. For embellishments, I added a Prima flower with some punched leaves behind it, ribbon, rhinestones, a punched border (EK Success), a little bit of white acrylic paint, and some stitching.
Well, I have mountains and mountains of laundry waiting for me right now so I had better get to it. :-) I hope your Monday is a happy and productive one! Hugs, Laurie
