Waltzingmouse February Release Waltz...

It's here!  Today is the release day for all NINE new Waltzingmouse stamp sets!  Today the design team is sharing projects made with the new Paris Noveau and Labels 25 sets!

When I first saw this set (Paris Noveau), I knew I wanted to make a "Paris at sunset" card!  :-)  I started by sponging some Distress Inks onto kraft cardstock.  I then embossed the border (also included in the set) in black along the bottom.  Then, just for fun, I stamped the leafy flower image onto the sponged background using kraft ink.  The Eiffel tower is embossed, cut out, and popped up.  I LOVED making this card!  There's just something therapeutic about getting all inky!  LOL!

Waltzingmouse February Sneak Peeks Day 2...

Helloooooo (said in my best Seinfeld voice)!  It's day 2 of the February Waltzingmouse sneak peeks!  Today, we are showing projects made with the new Florentine Frippery and Nordic Spring sets!

For my card, I used the new Nordic Spring set (the butterfly and the lace border under the pleated ribbon) and French Country set (for the sentiment).  I am a HUGE fan of Claire's Nodic Winter set and I can say that I love the Nordic Spring set just as much!

February Waltzingmouse Sneak Peeks Day 1...

Good morning!  Today is the first day of Waltzingmouse Stamps February Sneak Peeks!  Hold on to your seats, because this release is going to blow you away!  Really!  I love, love, love these stamps!!

My first card uses the new French Country set.  OMG!  Really!  That is how I feel about this set!  I am in total LOVE!!  Lots of pretty background choices and coordinating images (not to mention the pretty french sentiments)!!  Happy sigh...

I wanted to create a muted pink and red toile looking card.  I started with the lacy border (the red in the middle) then stamped the floral paisley image over and over in pink to create the other borders.  I then added a sentiment strip and embellishments.

For this card, I wanted to put a bit of a modern touch to the French Country look.  I used the new French Country set (for the white background and focal layer with sentiment) and the Chicken Wire background stamp (embossed in black on the black cardstock).  The chicken wire is difficult to see in the photo, but in real life is is subtle yet easy to see.

You've Been On My Mind...

Hello there!  I am so glad Friday is here!  Many of us in our family have been sick.  Really sick.  Today is actually the sixth day that my middle son has missed school.  I'm so hoping that this weekend will give us all a chance to rest and recover! 

I wanted to share this card I made a little while ago.  I used an image that I purchased for a number of reasons.  First, several people I know absolutely love sunflowers.  Second, it provides an opportunity to practice what I learned during the Copics Class I took from Suzanne Dean!

I used the Sun Flower stamp (Lockhart Stamp Company) and colored it in with my Copic markers.  For some extra detail, I added Stardust Stickles to the blue stripe on the watering can and then covered the whole can with Glassy Glaze. 

The sentiment is from Verve's Small Phrases set.  For embellishments, I went with my go-to items:  ribbon, buttons, stitching, and a flower of course!  The die cut is a new one that I picked up.  It's called Fremont Crest (from Memory Box).

For my card, I used the new Smarty Pants set!  Oh how I love this set!!  With all four of my kids in school, I know I will be using this set again and again!

I combined the globe image with the graduation cap (using a little bit of masking).  I plan on giving this to my youngest son, who will be graduation from Kindergarten this year!  :-)

Hello again!  Today I have a fun Paper Smooches card to share with you!

I'm just gonna say it.  Only Kim can make raindrops CAUUUUTE!!!  I mean, don't you just love those little guys?  I know the dark gray cardstock makes it hard to see their sweet smiling faces, but they just couldn't be any cuter!  :-)  All of the images (and sentiment) are from the new Eco Friendly set from Paper Smooches.

Surprise Blog Hop for Julee!

Good morning!  Today, some of Julee's friends are putting on a blog hop for Julee Tilman (owner of Verve)!  In less than four weeks, Mark (Mr. Verve :-) and Julee will be welcoming two precious twin boys to their family!

If you have arrived here from Teresa's blog, then you are right on track!  If not, head on over there, as you won't want to miss any of the fun! 

For my card, I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch (#229)!  The sentiments are from the To the Moon stamp set.  I created the two hearts (representing the two sweet boys) using the Wings of Love set and matching Wavy Hearts Die Set!

To add to the fun, we are all offering some parenting advice!  When I asked DH what would be some good advice for first time parents of boys, he jokingly said "See if their local ER offers a discount membership card or something"!  LOL!  Seriously though, having boys is such an AMAZING adventure (scrapes, bumps, and yes broken bones included) and one that we wouldn't trade for anything!  As for advice, well...just cherish each and every moment!  The housework and all the everyday to-do items will always be there, but those moments with your little ones pass by far too quickly!  One minute you are holding sweet little babies, the next they are taller than you are!  :-)

Congratulations Mark & Julee!!  Urs & I are SO very happy for you!  We can say that because we really do know what a blessing boys are!!!  :-)

Love at First Sip...

Good morning!  Not only is today Friday (Woohooo!), but it is also the day a new Viva La Verve sketch is posted over at the Verve Forum!  I am so excited to be this week's hostess!  I so hope you can play along!  There is a SERIOUS prize up for grabs ($100 Verve gift certificate!!!) for one lucky participant (you must complete all four February sketches to be qualified)!!  Check out the Verve Forum for all the details!

If you know me at all, then you know I am a patterned paper fanatic (to put it mildly)!  LOL!  So naturally, the sketch I came up with allows you to use as much patterned paper as your heart desires!  Happy sigh...

For my card, I cut into my brand new Miss Caroline Howdy Doody paper pad (from My Mind's Eye).  I used Verve's Better with You set to create the focal images.

Glitz February Color Challenge...

A great big happy Thursday to you!  It's my turn to share what I came up with this month's Blog Challenge, which happens to be a scrumptious color challenge! 

Aren't these colors gorgeous?  Here's what I came up with...

For my first card, I used one of the Happy Travels Cardstock Journaling Stickers as my card base (I just trimmed the ivory cardstock around it).  I really liked the shape and thought it would make a fun shaped card!

 

For my second card, I chose three different patterned papers from the new Pretty in Pink 6" Paper Pack.  I embellished it with a stamped image, some Teeny Alpha Stickers, & a Glitzer.
