Hi friends! Did you all have a lovely Mother's Day? My husband and kids really made my day special! I got a lot of hugs, love, cards, flowers, and even homemade cheesecake! They definitely know me well...
Speaking of Mother's Day, I thought that I would share with you a card that I made. One that celebrates a very special lady - my mom (aka grandma)!
I love the soft, girly colors and feminine patterns in the Twirly Girly collection and thought they would be perfect for my card. I so enjoy making cards for my mom, as she loves all of the frilly embellishments, girly colors, and multiple layers that I also love!
I chose a neutral colored paper for my background. After adhering a lacy heart die cut directly onto the patterned paper, I splattered a little bit of white paint. I then layered on some Twirly Girly stickers. For embellishment, I stitched across the middle of the banner stickers, tied on some ribbon and brad, and then added some Enamel Hearts.
Something else that I like to do, is add some chunky clear glitter around the edges of the card. I think it just adds so much!
Often times, when I go to all the effort of making a special card I like to also decorate the inside! To do this, I pull some of the same elements that I used on the front and add them sparingly. Here, I added a strip of the same patterned paper and just layered on just a couple of coordinating stickers. There is still plenty of room to write a handwritten note, but the little bit of extra attention really adds to the whole card!
What about you? Do you like to decorate the insides of your cards, or do you concentrate just on the front?
