Hi there! Today I'm excited to share with you a card I created using Papertrey Ink's brand new April release! The sets being highlighted today are Year of Psalms: April and Circled Symbols. I've already shared the cards that I created using the new Year of Psalms: April set before the release. To see them, scroll down or click HERE.
My card features the new Circled Symbols stamp set. This set brought back such great childhood memories for me! I remember getting my Highlights magazine in the mail every month, and one of their monthly columns features a story with symbols that replaced many of the words. It was SO much fun!
I just love how unique and creative this set is! I wanted to create a fun and bold card where the symbols were definitely the focal image. I started by choosing a bright color palette. I created the background by dry brushing some coordinating acrylic paint onto some heavyweight watercolor paper with a large brush. After the paint was dry I stamped the small heart (included in the Circled Symbols set) onto the paint using a coordinating color of ink.
For the focal layer, I embossed the circles using clear detail embossing powder onto four different colors of cardstock (Smokey Shadow, Berry Sorbet, Harvest Gold, & Hawaiian Shores) and then punched them out with a 1 1/4" circle punch.
I adhered the circles to a strip of vellum and attached it to my card using a mini stapler.
Make sure you head on over to Nichole's blog! She will have a list of everyone that is sharing today!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
