I hope you all enjoyed your Mother's Day! We had a quiet, but very enjoyable day! ("Quiet" with four munchkins is a rare thing around here...LOL!)
I'm so excited to share today's card with you! A couple of week's ago, a friend "introduced" me to Anna Griffin stamps! OH - MY - GOSH!! Where have I been??!!? I am in "stamp love"! Teehehehee!
To create this card, I first stamped my focal image (Nina Bouquet stamp from Anna Griffin) on to Kraft c.s. and colored it in with Copic markers. (I was inspired to try stamping/coloring on Kraft after seeing THIS gorgeous card by Debbie Olson.) It's hard to tell from this photo, but I popped the flowers up for some added dimension...AND to cover a major boo-boo! Evidently, I was squeezing my Copic marker a wee bit too hard, because when I was almost finished coloring my image, a HUGE blob of green ink covered my Amethyst flowers. Sigh... I do think the added dimension made the card prettier though... :-)
For the background, I stamped one of the borders (from my new Anna Griffin Elegant Borders set) onto Kraft c.s. using Vintage Cream ink. I embossed the angled floral scroll border (from the same Elegant Borders set) on to Kraft c.s. using my Malted Mauve Versamagic Dew Drop and Clear embossing powder. You will be seeing these gorgeous borders again because the Elegant Borders kit I got came with 21 different borders!! It took me almost as long to choose which ones I was going to use first as it did to actually make this card! LOL!
I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing Monday! :-) No...that was not intended to be an oxy moron... LOL! ~Laurie
