Hi! I know, it's been a while! Lots of business going on here...kids back to school, Fall cattle work on the ranch, football games, & a toddler thrown in to the mix! Ha! Speaking of my toddler, it's been a while since I've shared a photo of him so I've added one to the end of this post. :-)
Yesterday, some of the projects I have created lately were shared on the Bella Blvd Blog! I thought I would share them here with you as well. :-)
I love to keep small, handmade gift packaging around that is ready to fill with "a little something" when the need arises. In fact, my favorite kinds of gifts to give are ones that are for no specific reason other than to brighten someone's day! That is exactly what I had in mind while creating this gift bag. I wanted it to be bright, happy, & fun!
I started with a little brown gift sack that I had in my stash. For the base, I chose one of the 3 x 4s from the Whatever Is Lovely collection. I secured it with some Reminders washi tape. For the sentiment, I chose some stickers from the Wordfetti - White sticker sheet. There are so many possibilities with these stickers, but I kept the message basic and uplifting. A few more stickers from the Whatever Is Lovely collection finished it off perfectly.
How wonderful it is to have some supplies available to be able to create encouraging and uplifting projects! We have some friends that are going through something very difficult right now and I wanted to send them a card to let them know that they are not alone. I really love the "Under His wings you will find refuge" sticker and knew that I wanted that on the card. Actually, I designed the whole card around that sticker.
I created the background using texture paste, a stencil, and some ink pads and sponges. I adhered the sentiment sticker, along with some alphabet stickers to spell "Hope" (from the Big & Bold Black, Eyed Pea letters) on some vellum. Using the Illustrated Faith pen, I added some dots next to each letter to tie in the background a little more. I love how permanent this pen is! After a few seconds, it did not smear...even on vellum! I then added a little heart sticker (from the Love It sticker sheet) as well as a little glitter. I mounted the whole thing on a piece of patterned paper from the Fresh Market collection.
Along with some cute little gift packaging, I also like to keep some encouragement cards on hand. I find that I actually send more cards out if I have them already made and ready to go! For this card, I started with "I can do all things" graphic (form the Whatever Is Lovely Art Prints sheet). I tucked in part of a 3 x 4 (also from the Whatever Is Lovely collection) behind the art print graphic. I embellished it with a few more stickers (from the Illustrated Faith Point It and Say It - Black & White stickers sheets) as well as some Oreo Black enamel dots and a McIntosh crochet heart.
And this is my "little" guy! :-) Don't mind the messy face...he was at our local fair, and I think the rules are that you are supposed to have a messy face if you are little! LOL! The handsome fella next to him is our 9 year old (making sure his little brother doesn't decide to crawl out during the ride)!
Thanks for stopping by!
