Happy Harbor Mini Card Set...

Happy Saturday friends!  Today I have a fun little project to share with you!  I created a mini card set and holder using the new Happy Harbor set from Reverse Confetti!

For the mini card holder, I used a modified version of the 4" holder that I wrote a tutorial on.  If you are interested, you can find it HERE.  For the cover, I decorated it with some color blocked strips of cardstock and two images from the Happy Harbor set.  I colored the lighthouse in using Copic colors that matched the cardstock.

Here is a view from the side.  Two pockets hold the envelopes and mini cards.

I stamped the banner image (also from the Happy Harbor set) across the top of each pocket.  I included 6 envelopes to go with the 6 mini 3" cards.

I created two of each card design.  I used a light green for these two and paired it with some gray stamped rope.

For these anchor themed cards, I used a light purple.  I softened the stamped background with a strip of vellum cardstock.

For my final pair of cards, I paired the whale image and matching sentiment.  For the background, I scored horizontal lines across the white cardstock (it's a little hard to see in my photo).

Bella & Hampton Art - You're Awesome...

 

The Bella/Hampton Art week is still going on over at the Bella Blog!  Bella has teamed up with Hampton Art Stamps to showcase the new Bella BLVD/Hampton Art stamp sets! 

 

Here is another card I created using Bella/Hampton Art stamps and lovely Bella papers and goodies!  I combined two stamped flowers, a stamped sentiment, Ciao Chip Icons, Journaling Sticker, and a Sand & Surf patterned paper. I just adore the bright and sunny colors in this collection! For embellishment, I added some ribbon and three Button Market buttons.

As you can see in the close-up photo, I embossed the flowers using white embossing powder.  I love how just that small detail can create a whole different look!  :-)

May Diva Dare - Going to Be All Right...

Hey friends!  It's a cold day here in Montana...in fact, we woke up to several inches of snow!  I'm not complaining (too much) because we are so in need of the moisture!  It has been way too dry around here so this bit of moisture will help quite a bit!

I'm up over at the Verve Blog today, sharing my take on this month's Diva Dare challenge!  You can see all the details of the challenge HERE.  :-)

For my card I used the new Verve set Let it Be!  I paper pieced the flowers and then popped them up for some added dimension. 

I embossed the sentiment (also from the Let it Be set) directly onto the patterned paper.  I also added some scored lined to the right and left of the patterned paper.

Bella + Stamping...

 

 

This week over the Bella Blog, they are teaming up with Hampton Art Stamps to showcase the new Bella BLVD/Hampton Art stamp sets! 

Here's one of the cards that I created...

One of my favorite stamping techniques is paper piecing (stamping onto patterned paper and cutting it out). For my card, I stamped the heart (from the Love And Marriage Cling Stamp set) onto five different Love And Marriage patterned papers, cut them out, and then stitched them all together. I added a sticker border, Ciao Chip piece, Button Market button, and a stamped sentiment to complete the card.



As you can see by the close-up photo, these stamps leave crisp and clear impressions...I love it!

Mojo Teacher Thank You's...

Happy Friday, friends!  I am SO happy to say that it is a dreary, gloomy, rainy day!  We have been SO dry lately and everyone around here has been preparing for drought conditions.  :-(  So, a couple of days of steady rain is a wonderful change of pace for us!

Well, it's almost the end of the school year, and that means lots and lots of teacher thank you cards!  Here are three that I whipped up the other day...

I used the new Teachers Count set from Verve for all three of my cards.  I also used the new Apple Die set (also from Verve) to cut out a few apples.  :-)

This second card was created for a male teacher so I restrained from tying on a pretty bow!  LOL!  I used some neutral patterned papers but carried out the same theme as the other two.

All three of my cards use this week's Mojo Monday Sketch # 293
.

Here's my second "female" teacher card!  I kept the design/embellishments the same but just changed up the paper and sentiment.  I have to say, this is one of my most favorite teacher sets ever!  I adore the fonts and the sentiments are just as fabulous!

I still have 4 more end of the year cards to create, so I will share those next week.  :-)

Hello Friend...

Good morning!  Another busy day here in the Schmidlin house!  Two of our boys are off on a school field trip, and my sweet hop-a-long will be joining Alison and I for some appointments in town.  :-)

You all should be receiving your new Reverse Confetti goodies by now!  I can't wait to see all the fun things that you create with them floating around on the web!

For my card today, I used the new Peacock Pretties set from Reverse Confetti!  I kept the image simple (I embossed it in black on to vellum cardstock) and added all of the color behind it.

I also embossed the sentiment (included int he Peacock Pretties set) in black but chose a fun shade of green cardstock for another pop of color.

Love You to the Moon...

Hi again!  Look at me, all posting two days in a row!  Woohooo!  :-)

I have to take my son to the Orthopedic Dr. this morning...looks like his ankle might have broken near/on the growth plate.  This is the same boy that broke (shattered, really) his elbow a couple of years ago and yes, broke it on the growth plate.  I guess he doesn't like to do things part way!  LOL!

Anyway, I have a fun little card to share with you today...

 For my card, I used a brand new set from Gina K Designs.  I just love Beth's Weather or Not set, and thought it would be perfect for a little "pick me up" card for my son!  I used all shimmery cardstock for that little extra sumpin' sumpin'.  I embossed both the moon image and sentiment (it looks better on the shimmery cardstock) and then added some die cut stars and rhinestones.

Sharing a Couple of Cards...

Happy Tuesday, friends!  I am stunned at how fast May is going!  It really felt like yesterday that I was sitting here thinking that I have no idea where April went!  Any of you feel this way?  It must have something to do with all of the end of school year activities that have been going on! 

In other news, my 9 year old son was outside playing the other day and tripped over a rock.  Yep, that little thing caused him to break his ankle.  Sheesh!  He's so upset!  The little school that our boys go to takes all of the students to a water resort place on the last day of school (as well as a fun field trip a week before).  Guess who can't go to either one?  :-(  I've mentioned before that it's never boring in our household, right?  LOL!

Speaking of sons...this first card is one that I made for my oldest one!  He will be turning 15 this Fall (I know I'm early with the card...but I thought of him when I saw this set)!

I used the new Digits set from Paper Smooches!  I used all sorts of numbers for the background and then used the 1 and 5 for the focal image. 

I definitely went girly for my second card!  :-)  I used the new Retail Therapy set and created this sparkly card!  I paper pieced the purses then added some coordinating sequins on them.  :-)

Bella BLVD meets Silhouette Chipboard!

Happy Sunday friends and a very Happy Mother's Day to you!  Today I have a couple of fun projects (and a card) to share with you! 

Silhouette's May Promotion is now in full swing and I had the honor to create some projects using one of their newest products - Silhouette Chipboard! 

One of the projects that I couldn't wait to create using the Silhouette Chipboard was a gift container! The heavier weight lends itself nicely to holding heavier gifts! I started by cutting out the Fruit Basket shape using my Cameo, assembling it, and then adding some white wash paint over it. I decorated it with a strip of Bella patterned paper, Ciao Chip, and a Button Market button!

The shape file that I used is called 3-D Bushel Fruit Basket. 

Here's a peek at the tag that I included with the basket.  I will be giving this to my three boys' bus driver.  :-)

For my next project I created a little Baby mini album! I cut out album pages using my Silhouette Cameo and some Silhouette Chipboard. I then cut some Baby Boy pages using the same cut files. Both the front and back have different patterns (all from the Bella Baby Boy collection). I decorated the front of the Album using some coordinating Baby Boy Ciao Chip pieces, Alpha+Bits Stickers, a couple of Saltwater Feathers, and a Star Button.

The name of the cut file that I used for this album is called 3 Tabbed Mini Album.

I love adding both dimension and texture to my cards, so the idea of being able to create my own custom chipboard pieces really appealed to me! I used my Silhouette Cameo, Silhouette Chipboard, and various Bella patterned papers to cut out the tree and heart shapes for my card. For embellishments, I added a Miniature Card Sentiment and two Button Market buttons!

The names of the cut files that I used for this card are Echo Park Tree and Hearts Set.

For my card, I used the new All Occasion set along with the Occasion Frame Die.  I started with some gray Core'dinations cardstock and used a Circle Embossing Folder to emboss on the card front.  I then sanded the embossed image so that it would stand out a little more.  I stamped the frame (from the All Occasion stamp set) onto some Aqua Mist cardstock and then cut it out using the Occasion Frame Die.  I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock, punched it out with an oval punch, and then added glitter around the edges (it doesn't show up very well in the photo...sorry).  I then stamped the both the large and smaller heart petal flower onto Coral Calypso cardstock and then fussy cut them out.  The leaves are are paper pieced using Lucky Limeade (all from Stampin' Up!) cardstock.  I embellished it with some matching buttons, silver ribbon, and silver sequins.
