May Diva Dare - Going to Be All Right...

Hey friends!  It's a cold day here in Montana...in fact, we woke up to several inches of snow!  I'm not complaining (too much) because we are so in need of the moisture!  It has been way too dry around here so this bit of moisture will help quite a bit!

I'm up over at the Verve Blog today, sharing my take on this month's Diva Dare challenge!  You can see all the details of the challenge HERE.  :-)

For my card I used the new Verve set Let it Be!  I paper pieced the flowers and then popped them up for some added dimension. 

I embossed the sentiment (also from the Let it Be set) directly onto the patterned paper.  I also added some scored lined to the right and left of the patterned paper.

Mojo Teacher Thank You's...

Happy Friday, friends!  I am SO happy to say that it is a dreary, gloomy, rainy day!  We have been SO dry lately and everyone around here has been preparing for drought conditions.  :-(  So, a couple of days of steady rain is a wonderful change of pace for us!

Well, it's almost the end of the school year, and that means lots and lots of teacher thank you cards!  Here are three that I whipped up the other day...

I used the new Teachers Count set from Verve for all three of my cards.  I also used the new Apple Die set (also from Verve) to cut out a few apples.  :-)

This second card was created for a male teacher so I restrained from tying on a pretty bow!  LOL!  I used some neutral patterned papers but carried out the same theme as the other two.

Here's my second "female" teacher card!  I kept the design/embellishments the same but just changed up the paper and sentiment.  I have to say, this is one of my most favorite teacher sets ever!  I adore the fonts and the sentiments are just as fabulous!

I still have 4 more end of the year cards to create, so I will share those next week.  :-)

For my card, I used the new All Occasion set along with the Occasion Frame Die.  I started with some gray Core'dinations cardstock and used a Circle Embossing Folder to emboss on the card front.  I then sanded the embossed image so that it would stand out a little more.  I stamped the frame (from the All Occasion stamp set) onto some Aqua Mist cardstock and then cut it out using the Occasion Frame Die.  I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock, punched it out with an oval punch, and then added glitter around the edges (it doesn't show up very well in the photo...sorry).  I then stamped the both the large and smaller heart petal flower onto Coral Calypso cardstock and then fussy cut them out.  The leaves are are paper pieced using Lucky Limeade (all from Stampin' Up!) cardstock.  I embellished it with some matching buttons, silver ribbon, and silver sequins.

For my card, I used combined both the Strong Anchor set and Adjusted Sails Plain Jane (as well as the Nautical Die Set).  I also added a navy pennant border (using the Pennant Trim Die).

Here's a peek at the tag I created (it was tucked away in the green polka dotted envelope).  As soon as I saw this new Plain Jane I immediately thought of my daughter Alison.  Many of you have followed the updates I have written about her "storm" that she has faced/is facing.  Well, I can honestly say this quote describes her exactly!  At 17 years of age, she is such a mature young woman and deeply rooted in her faith.  That kind of unshakable faith and maturity does not usually come from "smooth sailing".  I was so impressed with something she said to me the other day, "Even though it has been painful and hard, I wouldn't change anything that I've gone through because I wouldn't want to lose what I've learned".  I can testify to those "lessons" being very hard won, and I couldn't be prouder of how she chooses to look at adversity!  So, that is why this first card I made using this Plain Jane just had to be for her!

I used the new Let it Be stamp set for my card today!  I so adore the sentiments in this set and had a hard time choosing which one I wanted to use first!  I thought this uplifting sentiment would great for almost any occasion!  My all-occasion card stash was pretty low so I chose this sentiment for my first card with this set.  :-)

I embossed the sentiment onto some cardstock that was already stamped with the Notebook Plain Jane and then cut it out suing the Rounded Rectangle Die.  I added a flower (I used the larger one from the Let it Be set) that I embossed onto some patterned paper.

The bow is some fun new ribbon that Julee will be adding to the store on release day!  I loooove this ribbon and have been looking everywhere to find some more!  I couldn't be happier that Julee is adding it to the Verve Store!  Woot!

For that little extra sumpin', I added a scalloped border (I used the Scalloped Trim Trio Die Set).

For my first card, I used the brand new Take Note set!  It's a tough call, but this *might* be my favorite set of the release!  Then again, I will probably say that again tomorrow!  ((grin))  I stamped the cursive alphabet image along the side of my card.  The stars  behind the envelope are actually two separate stamps.  Also, the envelope has a little open space right where I stamped the heart

For my second card, I created a little graduation cap shaped card.  I used a cut file from my Silhouette store and my Silhouette Cameo.

Here's a peek at the inside.  I used the brand new Happy Graduation PJ and embossed using some Black Detail embossing powder.  I then cut it out using the Classy Label Die.

April Diva Dare...

A Scrappy Thanks...

Happy Friday friends!  Last weekend I spend some time purging and organizing my stamp room.  I had been feeling like my room was closing in on me...with ever growing mounds of supplies piling up...with no room to put it all away!  I am not a stamper that can create in a chaotic environment very well, and noticed that my mojo was suffering.  I would have done this earlier, but I've been so sick (for what feels like forever) so I didn't really feel up to it.  Well, I can now say my room is MUCH better!  I still have some plans to go through all of my embellishment drawers and patterned paper but for now I am happy!  :-)

Well, along the way I discovered where some fun goodies were "hiding"!  LOL!  Among those were some My Mind's Eye paper (from the Collectable "Remarkable" collection) and some wooden embellishments!  So...they are what inspired my card today.

I knew that I wanted to paper piece some flowers, so I went digging through my Verve collection (they have GREAT flowers)!  When I saw the newest set, Surely Goodness, I knew this was the set I wanted to use!  I cut out the flowers using the Goodness Flowers Die Set. 

I also organized aaaalllllllll my ribbon (and wow, do I have a lot of ribbon LOL!), and found this fun Espresso scalloped organza (from Stampin' Up!)!  :-)  Hooray for "new" things!  Teeheee!

Keep Shining...

Happy Tuesday!  I'm up over at the Glitz Blog today!  Lea has challenged us to use stickers on our Glitz projects this week...and as it so happens, I LOVE Glitz stickers!  :-)

For my first card, I combined papers, Peek-A-Boos, & Puffy Words from the Cashmere Dame collection.  For the finishing touch, I added a Cashmere Dame Giant Rhinestone.  The focal sentiment is from Verve's new Shining Star set.  I die cut some stars (form some coordinating Glitz paper) using the Verve Starry Die.

For my second card, I combined papers, Journaling Stickers, Peek-A-Boos, and Paper Layers from the Uncharted Waters collection.  for embellishment, I added some buttons, a Giant Rhinestone, and some Color Me Happy Woodgrain washi tape.

I stamped the banner using Verve's new Remember This and coordinating Banner Bundle set.  The pretty stamped flower behind the smile sentiment (which also from the Remember This set) is from Verve's Surely Goodness set.
