Verve Spotlight Hop Day 1 - Take Note and Happy Graduation PJ...

Welcome to our May 2013 Spotlight Hops!  Today we're shining our Verve spotlights on the new stamps Take Note and Happy Graduation Plain Jane. Each of the release team Divas and Guest Divas below has posted her first look at these new stamps today. For my first card, I used the brand new Take Note set!  It's a tough call, but this *might* be my favorite set of the release!  Then again, I will probably say that again tomorrow!  ((grin))  I stamped the cursive alphabet image along the side of my card.  The stars  behind the envelope are actually two separate stamps.  Also, the envelope has a little open space right where I stamped the heart

For my second card, I created a little graduation cap shaped card.  I used a cut file from my Silhouette store and my Silhouette Cameo.

Here's a peek at the inside.  I used the brand new Happy Graduation PJ and embossed using some Black Detail embossing powder.  I then cut it out using the Classy Label Die.

Countdown to Confetti - Dream in Color & Peacock Pretties!

Welcome to day two of the very first Reverse Confetti Sneak Peeks!  Today the Confetti Crew is sharing projects made with two of the soon to be released sets - Peacock Pretties and Dream in Color!  All four of the new sets will be released this coming Wednesday, May 8th!

For my first card, I used the new Peacock Pretties set.  Normally, I am a patterned paper addict connoisseur, and use it on almost every card I make!  Well, when I saw some of the gorgeous pattern images in this set I was smitten!  I actually made my own background! 

After embossing the background using white embossing powder (I used watercolor paper for this) I added a light watercolor wash over the top of it.  I did this by using some Distress Markers and a Tombow Marker.  I scribbled on some acetate then used my water brush to pick up the color.  For a finishing touch, I spritzed some Tattered Angels shimmery gold spray over the top of it.  So fun! 

In this close up, you can also see the sentiment is embossed using gold embossing powder (I have no idea why I couldn't capture that with a straight on photo). 

 

 

 

My second card features the new Dream in Color set!  I so adore this set!  There are so many possibilities...I can definitely see this being a go-to set for me! 

I created "lines" by adhering gray strips of cardstock directly onto the gray background.  I cut the panel in half and then curled up the edges to give it a torn look.  I then backed it with some white cardstock that had my sentiment stamped and colored on it.

For fun (and let's face it...when is bling not fun??) I added a wee bit of Stardust Stickles to the bottom of each colored letter!

Countdown to Confetti - Happy Harbor!

 

Welcome to the first day of Reverse Confetti Sneak Peeks!  Ooooh, but you are in for such a treat!  Jen has four amazing sets that will be released on the 8th!

Today, the Confetti Crew is sharing sneak peeks of the new Happy Harbor set!  With 14 different images and sentiments, this is one fun and versatile nautical themed set!

 

I created a round card using two different images and one sentiment from the Happy Harbor set.  I adore these images...cute, fun, and whimsical all in one! 

I scored some lines around the white circular frame (kind of like a port hole or a life preserver).

 

For embellishment and a pop of color, I popped cut out and popped up the sweet little compass rose image!  :-)

For My Best Pal...

Happy Saturday friends!  We don't have any big plans.  The rainy weather kind of put a damper on most of the ranch work my DH had planned, so I just may get to go out to dinner with him later on!  Woohooo!  Got to love rain!  LOL!



Okay, how caaauuuute is that dog?  Those puppy eyes get me every time!  :-)  For my card, I combined the Woofers & Tweeters set with the brand new Woofers dies (and the Woofers Extras dies).  I die cut a bunch of bones and piled them in the brown bag (created with the new Shopping Bag Die)!

Some Exciting News!!

Good morning friends!  I have some exciting news to share with you today!! 

My friend Jen Del Muro has started her own stamp company called Reverse Confetti!  When she emailed me a little while ago to ask if I would be interested in joining her Design Team I was so honored!  I have been a big fan of hers for quite a while, even served on a couple of design teams together over the years, and knew that whatever she put her hand to would be amazing!  I even had to pleasure to meet her in person at Winter CHA a year and a half ago!  She is so fun, sweet, and crazy talented...and I can't wait for you all to see what she has in store for you this coming week!

A Couple of Paper Smooches Cards...

 Hi friends!  I'm a little behind in sharing some of my Paper Smooches cards, so I thought I would share a couple of them with you today.

 

This first one is actually being shared over at the Paper Smooches blog today!  I used the new Slang Gang set (all the new sets including this one will be released tomorrow!!)!  I stamped the dude sentiment all over the background layer and then embossed the You're the Bomb sentiment on the bomb.  The bomb is a cutting file I downloaded from the Silhouette Store.  Having three boys, I can see using these sentiments a lot!  So fun!  :-)

This card was shared a while ago on the Paper Smooches blog (blush), but I really wanted to share it here as well.  I used the First Aid Kit set along with the new Borders 1 dies.  I love, love, love this set!  I am horrible about sending get well cards, but really...what could be more encouraging than receiving one of these when you aren't feeling well?  I need to get better about sending these out!  :-)

Well, I am spending this cold Tuesday in my stamp room!  I have lots of fun stuff coming up to share with you!  :-)

Happy YOU Day...

Happy Monday, friends!  Today, I am hosting the Make it Monday Challenge over at StampTV!  The theme is "April Showers Bring May Flowers".  If you get a chance, I would love it if you checked it out!

Here's the card I created for the challenge!  Since I am (not so patiently) awaiting Spring to finally make it to Montana, I most definitely have flowers on my mind!  So that is what I focused on!  I used the Birds and Blossoms set to create this flowery card.  :-)

Okay...first, I have to tell you that I got SO hungry while coloring this image!  LOL!  Doesn't that sandwich look amazing?  Mmmmm!  It's times like these that living an hour from the nearest town in a bummer!  :-)

For my card, I used the brand new Think Fast set!  And what a FUN set this is!!  I started by embossing the sandwich onto watercolor paper and then colored it in using a combination of Tombow and Distress markers along with a little bit of water.  I stamped the sentiment (also included in the Think Fast set) on the top left corner and then added some sequins and circles for embellishment.

Glitz Blog Hop - Love You Madly...

Hi friends!  Today I'm hopping along with the rest of the Glitz Design Team as we share projects made with the Love You Madly collection!

This will be my last post as a Glitz Design Team member and I wanted to say a big thank you to the Glitz Girls and Lea Lawson (DT Coordinator) for the wonderful opportunity to be on this team!  Even though I will no longer be a design team member, I will continue to be a fan and cannot wait to see all the fun things they come up with!
