Hi friends! Today I'm sharing with you how I have been utilizing my Moments Inked Planner to keep me on track with my weekly menu planning! With living an hour from the nearest town (and grocery store), I have always had to plan out my menus in advance. I have tried several different ways to keep track of these, but they all involved separate lists and I would almost always leave one of them at home when I left for town. It finally occurred to me one day that I should keep both my menu and grocery list inside my planner, since I almost always have it with me!
I started with a piece of the Moments Inked Graph Refill Binder Pages. I broke my week down into 7 sections, one for each of the week days. I used a light gray pen to draw a line to separate the weekly spaces.
Using the daily sentiments from the Monthly Moments: Tabbed set (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc.), I stamped each section making sure to start with Monday. I don't know why, but especially in meal planning I always think of Monday as the start of the week.
Because I couldn't help myself, I added a wee little Sweet Blush page that I decorated with an encouraging quote from the Choose Joy set. I just love how having the Moments Inked: Binder Pages dies allows me to add these personal touches!
For the top of my page I die cut the "weekly" sentiment using the Wet Paint Alphabet dies. I also added a little tab that I created using the Monthly Moments Tabbed stamp set and coordinating Monthly Moments Tabbed die.
I decorated the whole page using The Sweet Life images. Yep, this is probably my favorite Papertrey Ink stamp set!
One of the things that was important to me, was to create a menu sheet that is re-usable. I do love the process of stamping and decorating the pages, but I know that I won't always have the time to do this. My solution was to laminate my completed menu page. I ran the page through my lamintor and then used the largest of the Moments Inked: Binder Page dies to cut it out.
Here's a peek at what my menu looked like for last week. Sometimes I add in the side dishes but most times it is just the main dish that gets written down. I found that using a ultra-fine tip dry erase marker works better for writing in the small spaces.
I have been toying with the idea of creating a monthly menu sheet. I haven't decided if I want to commit to that yet or not. LOL! In any case, I wanted to create a divider so that my menu list (or lists) would have their own section. Similar to the one that I created for my cleaning lists, I used some Soft Stone patterned paper for the divider base. The label was created using the Center Style: Feminine die and the Choose Joy and A Cheerful Heart stamp sets. I also added some more roses from The Sweet Life set (die cut with the coordinating The Sweet Life dies). I added another tab to the right. I die cut the tab using the Mini Tab Die and Soft Stone cardstock. I stamped the "menu" sentiment (from the Moments Inked: Listed stamp set) in a dark gray ink.
