SSD Sketch #74...

Hi again! I'm back today with another Skipping Stones Design Sketch!  I've had so much fun this month as a Guest Sketch Designer and want to thank Heather and everyone at Skipping Stones Design for including me in the fun this month!

Here's my last sketch for the month...

For my card, I strayed just a bit from the sketch as I chose not to add a sentiment.  :-)  One thing I love to do, is create generic cards that can be given for a variety of occasions.  I usually just add a sentiment to the inside as my card when the need arises! 

I used three different Skipping Stones Design sets.  For the background of the center strip, I embossed one of the blocks from the Rustic Tiles set (which also happens to be on sale right now :-).  I then added an embossed frame from the Sentiment Frames set.  I just adore tone-on-tone embossing!  :-)  Finally, for the focal image, I embossed (and colored with markers) the large butterfly from the Healing Wings set.

   

Here's a close-up, so you can see the texture that the tone-on-tone embossing creates as well as the wee bit of Sparkle I added to the butterfly!  :-)

Oh, did you notice my card had NO patterned paper on it??  So I am still able to create without it...I had my doubts for a while!  LOL!

Masculine Thanks...

This is my third week as the guest Skipping Stones Design sketch designer!  There is a prize to be had for participating, so make sure to head on over to the SSD blog and check it out!  :-)

Here's the sketch I came up with for this week...

My initial thought when I added those wavy layers on the bottom, was that they could be paper pieced layers, or even torn layers (I didn't know how to add that to my sketch LOL!).

Here's what I made using the sketch...

 

I went with the torn layers idea.  :-)  I knew that I wanted to use the Grunge set, as I am always in need of masculine cards it seems!  Both of the backgrounds were stamped using Versamark in (I love how it looks on Kraft cardstock).

Skipping Stones Design New Release Blog Hop...

Live the Life of Your Dreams...

 Good morning!  I have some exciting news to share with you today!  I was so honored to receive an email from Heather owner of Skipping Stones Designs, asking me if I would like to be their guest sketch artist!  Yay!! 

After emailing back that I would love to...I started shaking in my boots!  Anyone that knows me...knows that I'm not much of a sketch artist!  LOL!  So...go easy on me o.k.?  :-)

So, here is my first attempt at making a sketch...

Here's my take on the sketch...

It's true.  I have a serious patterned paper addiction.  :-)  Here, I combined some My Mind's Eye paper with the Healing Wings set (from Skipping Stones Designs).  I just love that polka dot butterfly!!
