Stamper's Dream Blog Hop...

Good morning!  I am honored to be a part of this special Stamper's Dream Blog Hop.  If you haven't read Michelle's post yet today, please take a moment and head over there,  In order to spend more time with her family and friends, she has made the difficult decision to close Stamper's Dream.

For my card, I used the Elegant Frames cling set from JustRite Stampers.  The patterned paper is from the Blush Lost & Found 6 x 6 pad by My Mind's Eye.  I embellished it with some pearl flourishes, ribbon, a Prima flower, and a Prima Crystal Heart. (LOVE those things).

Stamper's Dream & Friends Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Stamper's Dream & Friends blog hop!  I was so excited to receive Michelle's email inviting me to participate!  Just wait until you see all the talented stampers hopping along today!  The hop starts over at Debbie Olsons's blog, so if you would like to get caught up now is the perfect time!  I'll share the rest of the list right after I show you my card.  :-)

  I'm sure most of you know that I live in Montana and live on a cattle ranch.  And yes, I am married to a real life cowboy!  :-)  So it was just natural that I snagged the Wild West cling stamp set (by Tim Holtz) as soon as I saw it in Michelle's store! 

To create my card, I went old school - no patterned papers & no copics!  I started by stamping the bucking bronc image onto some kraft cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I then masked the image with some thin paper.  To create the sunset background, I sponged Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick, & Frayed Burlap Distress Inks (by Tim Holtz).  After removing the mask, I then colored the main image using my Prisma Colored Pencils and baby oil (used as a blending agent).

In this close-up you can see a bit of the of the Woodgrain Texture Fade (also by Tim Holtz) on the background layer as well as the itty bitty staples I added!

Season's Greetings...

Happy Columbus Day!!  I know, the day's actually almost over...but it still is officially Monday here.  As much as I normally like Mondays...I'm glad this one is almost over!  A trip to the Doctor, a van full of middle school foot ball players (who had WAY more energy than normal), and the beginnings of a migraine...need I say more?  :-)

 

Before I head to bed, I wanted to pop in here and share this Christmas card I made.

Both the snowman image and the sentiment are from the Snowman Greeting Cling Set (from Stampendous!).  After coloring the image with Copics, I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to part of the snowman.  The sentiment was embossed using Judikins Black Detail embossing powder and then cut out using one of the Spellbinder's Nesabilities Labels 10 dies.

The Path to a Friend's House...

Hello again!  Two posts in one day...I'm on a roll!!  :-)

I wanted to pop in here and share this Christmas card with you...

 

After embossing the main image (from the Cardinal Path set from Stampendous!), I decided that I would show my Tombow Markers a little love and did a little watercooring!  I don't know about you, but I get into such a rut...using the same things over and over that I sometimes forget about 3/4 of my supplies!  LOL! 

The gorgeous patterned paper is from the Holly Jolly Collection by My Mind's Eye.  To add just a hint of sparkle to the snow, I applied some Frosted Lace Stickles (it's THE perfect snow sparkle :-)!

 

Here's a peek at the inside of the card.  There wasn't room for the sentiment (included in the Cardinal Path set) on the front, so I decided to use it to pretty up the inside a bit.  :-)

Bright As a Star...

Hello again!  You know, no one ever told me that once my kiddos went to public school that there was a good possibility that I would be even BUSIER than when I taught them at home!!  LOL!!  Seriously though, we've been running non-stop, but the kids are having a great time!  That's really what counts, isn't it?  :-)

Before I run off to pick them up from the bus, I thought I would sneak in here and share a card with you!

I used the Stampavie image called Bright as a Star combined with some patterned paper from Crate Paper's Snow Day Collection.  After coloring the image in with my Copics, I added some sparkle with some Stickles! 

Of course, I added some buttons, ribbon, and a rhinestone!  I almost feel like my card is not complete without those things!  LOL!!

Homespun Birthday Wishes...

Happy Sunday!  Isn't it amazing how the weekend just flies by?  DH and the boys spent the night camping last night and DD and I will join them this morning.  We plan on spending the day on one of the nearby mountains (hiking, picture taking, & playing in the creek) to try and take advantage of what will probably be one of the last warm days that we will see this year.

I noticed that my birthday card stash was getting low, so the next few cards that you will see from me will most likely be birthday ones.  :-)

I had some Echo Park (Life is Good) paper sitting out on my desk and I couldn't get over how lovely the patterns were!  After not being able to decide on which one design, I thought I would use several!  Teehehee!

 

While looking through my JustRite sets, I came across this image (from the Birthday Centers Round set) and knew right away it would be perfect for my card!

A few rhinestones, some lace and string, and stitching completed my card.

I used the Backyard Birds set to create my Christmas card.  I know, normally a bird stamp set is not something you associate with Christmas...but I was so taken with this beautiful Cardinal image and thought it was perfect for a Christmas card!

 

For the inside, I embossed a sentiment from the Nature's Nested Sentiments set.  To cut the image out, I used one of the new Labels 14 Spellbinder Nestabilities dies!

I colored the image in with Copics, and even added a little Liquid Applique to the branches for some puffy, white snow!  The paper is from Teresa Collins (I just love the non-traditional Christmas colors).

Make a Wish...

What?  It's Monday already!??!  How in the world did that happen?  :-)  Time sure is flying by these days!!

I thought I would pop in and share a card with you before the day completely gets away from me!

 

I used the Penny Black set called Make a Wish.  The patterned paper is from the new Alphabet Soup Girl collection by My Mind's Eye.  I added some Liquid Applique to the fluffy white flowers, and some pink Stickles to the other ones.

The fun decorative border is called Brackets on the Edge, and is one of the Tim Hotlz Sizzix dies.

Have a Grrreat Day...

Hi there!  As I mentioned before, my two older boys started public school this past week.  For me it's been an emotional roller coaster.  For them, however, it's been GREAT!!  They love it!  I'm sure the "novelty" will wear off soon for my 11 year old, but for now he can't wait to start again this week! 

  

Here's a card I made for my 6 year old son (I plan on slipping it into his luch bag tomorrow).  Admittedly, this card is a definite departure from my "normal" style and is almost on the "scrappy" side, but I think my DS will like it.  :-)

I used the SUPER cute new Alphabet Soup - Boy collection (from My Mind's Eye) for the papers and images (isn't that monster soooooo cute!?!).  I created my own "custom" sentiment using the new JustRite Myriad Pro font set.

Oh...and speaking of the NEW My Mind's Eye collections, Stamper's Dream has got several of them in stock!  Aaaack!!!  I am a complete MME junkie I tell ya!
