Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! My littlest one was sick today, so there wasn't as much stamping accomplished as I hoped...but I do have some projects to share with you!
This first one was for Taylor's ATC (Artist Trading Card) challenge. The dimensions of this little cutie is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. I tied some black thread at the base of the hanger and added some Red Stickles to the hearts. The Paisley background is embossed using Black detail e.p. on Whisper White cardstock. And of course, I added a little red jewel (it's a heart shape :-).
Recipe Stamps: Event Full (Level 1 Hostess set), Paisley Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black Ink: Versamark & Black detail e.p. Other: Black thread, Black gingham ribbon, Red Stickles, Red heart jewel, White gel pen
This next one is a combination of 3 different challenges: Trudee's Inspiration challenge (there was a picture of a room with pale yellows and blues), JanTink's Pastel Only challenge (only to use soft pastel colors) & StamperSharon's Sketch challenge. I had so much fun paper piecing for the first time yesterday, that I wanted to do it again! I don't have too many open line stamps to do this technique with (will have to change that...LOL!) so I used this little bird again. OH....I actually SEWED for the first time ever on a card!!! I went and dusted off my sewing machine (it was baaaad) and decided to give it a try! It's not as hard as I thought! Woohoo!
Recipe Stamps: Fun & Fast Notes Paper: Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Patterned paper by Chatterbox Other: Clear Jewels, Marvy Mega and Giga Oval Punches, Prima Flower, Blue gingham ribbon, my sewing machine
I created this card for Waxy-O's Vintage challenge (I'm actually giving this to my brother, though! He sent us a computer for the kids to use for school...how awesome is he???). We were to sponge with 3 coordinating colors of ink starting with the lightest first and working to the darkest. I started by stamping the boat in Basic Brown on Soft Sky paper. I then stamped the waves stamp (or are they clouds???) in soft sky all around it. Then I stamped the Weathered stamp in Chocolate Chip over the whole piece of cardstock. I started sponging (and rubbing) with Sahara Sand all over the paper. Then I sponged Creamy Caramel lightly (without sponging the boat...I wanted it to have a "highlighted" look) then the Chocolate Chip on the edges. I created the circle sentiment with my circle punches. I was so tickled with having actually sewn on a card (this really is huge for me (my mom would agree...LOL) that I took the large needle from the Crafter's Tool Kit and some Linen Thread and did some stitching around the sentiment and 3 x's down in the corner (they really aren't that warped looking in real life...not sure what happened with the picture). Lastly, I distressed all the edges.
Well, that's all I've done so far today. My little guy is now in bed, so who knows...I might get some more stamping in tonight! :-) Also, THANK YOU to everyone for all your words of congratulations! I couldn't hardly believe that Splitcoast chose me to be there Featured Stamper today! I feel majorly intimidated...have you seen all those previous amazing Featured Stamper's galleries?? Wow! ~Laurie
