ETA: I forgot to mention how i attached my bow to the card...and apparently, Inquiring Minds want to know! :-) I just poked a hole (large enough for my ribbon to go through) in my top layer before I glued it down to the card base and threaded it through that! The reason that I did this before I layered it on the card base, was so that the ribbon doesn't show on the inside. Just a tad more "finished" looking and it gives you more writing space! It's easier than it looks! :-)
I have set a goal for myself this year. I want to have all of my Christmas Cards done by the end on November! That is quite a feat for me, because I have such a hard time getting into the "mood" for stamping Christmas Cards when it's still warm outside! LOL! I've decided that I don't really need snow in order to get my Christmas cards done...just some super cute stamps! Hehehee! When I saw the Sketch for the Sketch Challenge today, I know that I wanted to use this set!
This was a hard card to photograph today...because of our gloomy weather. The Soft Sky just looks so much better in natural light. It is so much softer and sparkly in real life.
I embossed the ornament in silver e.p. on Shimmery White c.s. I then used a wet watercolor brush and my ink pads to add some color. I embossed the snowflakes in the same silver e.p. on Vellum c.s.
I was hesitant to buy the new Metallic elastic cord in the Holiday Mini. I still have some of the old stuff that retired last summer, so I wasn't convinced that I would need this. I have to tell you that I am SO glad I did order it, though! It is so nice to work with! The ends of the old cord always seemed to stick straight up...no matter how much I fiddled with it. This elastic cord stays right where I put it!
Well, I have to run...lots of appointments and errands to do today! Have a super blessed day! ~Laurie
