Good morning! It's so hard for me to believe that it's Friday already! We've been so busy here that the days must have just flown by, I guess! :-) Well, being that it is Friday...it's time for another one of Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenges!
I know I keep saying this...but again, I needed to keep this fairly simple as we are still in the midst of one of our busiest weeks in a long time! After this weekend is over, things will slow down here quite a bit, so I'll be able to spend a little more time in my stamp room!
I started with a 5 1/4" Always Artichoke card base. I stamped the focal image in Always Artichoke ink onto Very Vanilla c.s. used my Coluzzle to cut out a circle and used it as a mast for the center of the image. I then sponged the edges first with Sahara Sand ink and then Always Artichoke. For the "snowflakes" I masked the edges (with the piece of c.s. that the circle was cut out of) and embossed one of the background stamps from Itty Bitty Backgrounds (to me, it looks just like snow falling). The little flourishes in the corners is from the Fancy Flexible Phrases set. To give it the worn "parchment" look, I sponged on the Holiday Harmony DP with Always Artichoke ink.
What a fun and versatile sketch! Thanks Beate! You should also check out the gorgeous samples that Beate, Charmaine, Jenn, & Sharon have made using this sketch!
Don't forget to stop back by tomorrow for my "Sweet & Simple Saturday" post! ~Laurie
