Happy Friday! I love Fridays! We let the kids stay up just a little bit later and play games, watch a movie, or whatever else we decide would be fun to do! Tonight, I think we're going to watch a movie and have some popcorn! :-) Next week is an insanely busy week for all of us, so this little "break" will be much needed!! LOL! Fridays also mean that I get to play with another fun sketch for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge!!
This sketch was so much FUN!! I love that it is not the "normal" size of card! I think I've only ever made one card that is this size (3 7/8 x 9 - it fits in the lg. open end envelope) before. Normally, this might be "too much card" for me to make work, but this sketch really helps fill up the space!
I used one of my favorite stamp sets from the new catty (Kind Thoughts) and paired it up with another 'soon to be favorite' Frames With a Flourish. The two-tone background (separated with some Kraft taffeta ribbon) is stamped with the Stitched background stamp and the smaller background panel (the one with the Chocolate wide grosgrain tied around it) was stamped with the French Script background stamp (you can't see it very well in the pic). I roughed up some of the edges with my Cutter Kit....and then sponged all of the different layers to add some warmth. The colors for this card were inspired by THIS beauty by my friend Tosh. I just LOVE the warm jewel tone colors she used...and had to give them a try!
Make sure to check out what Beate, Cambria, Charmaine, Jenn, Lori, Mary Jo, & Sharon have created using this sketch...they are sure to inspire you!!
I hope you all have a fun and relaxing weekend!! ~Laurie
