Happy Saturday!! Our weather today is so deliciously Autumn-ish...it's perfect for a "stamping day"!! I don't know what it is about drizzly, cooler weather that puts me in such a stamping mood...but I'm not complaining! LOL! So, be on the lookout for more projects from me! Hehehee!
Today's Our Creative Corner Challenge is to "Bling on the Bling"! Well, I loooove bling so this was an easy one for me! :-) As I sat down to stamp, my thoughts kept wandering to our bathroom. (You SO have to keep reading or that last sentence will not make any sense! LOL!!!) I just finished re-doing our master bathroom (no remodeling or anything...just redecorating). There is this empty shelf that just kept bugging me (I looove balance :-). I have a basket of pretty washcloths on one shelf, some fun candles on another...but this empty shelf was really getting to me. So as I was getting ready to stamp my card, the thought to make a hand stamped decoration finally dawned on me! I then immediately reached for my Be Calm stamp (by My Favorite Things) and got started!
I started with a piece of green Palette Prints DP from Stampnin' Up! (retired). I then stamped the Be calm stamp onto Neenah Natural White c.s. three times with Adirondack Espresso ink. I then embossed the scalloped oval (from the Punch a Bunch set by My Favorite Things) around one of the Be Calm images and cut it out. After coloring all of the second image and only the flowers from the third with Copic markers, I cut each of them out and popped them up on my main image (see second photo).
Now, for the bling...I need to explain! LOL! Normally, I can't get enough of it...but since this is going in my bathroom I thought I should go with the "less is more" philosophy...for my DH's sake! LOL! I did sneak some Stardust Stickles on to the flowers and two mini rhinestones on the oval (not to mention some Diamond Glaze on the tub hehehee). :-)
Well, that's it for now...but with this cooler weather, it probably is just the beginning for today! LOL! You'll also want to check out all the AMAZING samples the OCC girls created...they really blew me away!!! ~Laurie
