Happy Wednesday!! Today, we are sharing sneak peeks of a brand new Verve set called Wishful Elegance over at the Verve blog! I chose to do a card and a photo holder set.
I just love the flowers in this new set...and wanted them to be the focus of my project. I colored them with copics and then cut them out.
I wanted a curvy border on my card, so I used a large round plate to create the curved edge. I then mounted the flowers (with button centers) along that edge. For the sentiment, I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig and some masking to emboss it along the curved edge (it is a two line sentiment). Again, i didn't want to take away the spotlight from the flowers, so I embossed the sentiment in black...on the black c.s. I really like the subtle yet elegance of the black on black...
This photo holder, believe it or not, was originally an ugly cheer leading themed holder (I found it in the dollar bin at JoAnn's). When I say ugly, I'm NOT exagerating! Even my daughter said, "Mom, why in the world did you buy that...please say it's not for me"! LOL!! I used a knife and pryed the cheerleading decals off, then painted the holder with black acrylic paint. A few squares of patterned paper, some large daisies (from the new Wishful Elegance set), buttons, and some ribbon and my holder is finished! :-)
Here is the view from the back of the photo holder. Each square has a different colored flower on it....to match the card.
I normally don't go for the bright colors...but I really like the way this gift set turned out!
Want to see more peeks from this set? Head on over to the Verve Stamps blog...where you can also enter to win this set! :-)
Thanks for stopping by! ~Laurie
