I know what you're thinking... WHAT in the world would Cowboys, Cowpokes, & Copics have in common? Well, before last week I would have said "nothing", but now...well, I'll explain that story in a minute! :-)
First, I wanted to share a picture of a card I made while I was visiting Julee! I was seriously hoping some of her mojo would rub off a little on me while I was there...but that didn't seem to happen. :-( I DID however get to play with some new toys (Floral Dreams paper by K & Co., new EK Success border punch, and a Quickutz flourish frame) that I picked up while down there! GET THIS...there are craft stores (yes, multiple ones) all within minutes of her!! Happy Sigh...
One thing I noticed while I was in Julee's stamp room, was that many of her projects have CRAZY gorgeous sparkle on them! Not just Stickles...oh, no...she actually makes her own glittery concoction by mixing glitter with Crystal Effects (or Diamond Glaze) and painting it on! Well, I had to get in on that! :-)
I used the new Big Wishset (Verve Stamps) to create this birthday card. The cake is colored in with Copics. The embellishments (ribbon, Dew Drops, Liquid Pearls, & decorative pin) were mostly mooched off of Julee! {{giggle}}
So, are you wondering about my crazy blog post title? It all happened last Wednesday...which happened to be my birthday. I left for town (I've found that appointments & piano lessons don't stop just because it's my birthday LOL!), and when I got home I found my hubby and youngest son making a cake for me! They didn't stop there...they BOTH actually went into my stamp room and stamped me a card!! Here is what was waiting for me...
This was probably THE best gift! I just wish I could have been a fly on the wall while my two guys were stamping!! They even broke out my Copics!!
Speaking of Copics, guess what my hubby discovered?
He learned that Copic markers do not come off of clear stamps! LOL!!! He was worried that he ruined my stamp, but I am happy to report that it in no way effects the stamped images! (((No stamps were harmed in any way in the making of this blog post! LOL!))) AND, it looks all pretty in the packaging! ROFLOL!!! So, my Cowboy and my little Cowpoke are quite the stampers...and they like Julee's Big Wish set too! :-)
Before I go, I thought I would share some pictures of my Cowboy! These were taken by a friend of ours (Heiko Rodde) from Germany. I only WISH I could say that I am half the photographer he is! Heiko is absolutely amazing!
Sigh... Isn't that just a dreamy photo?
Here's DH again. Just another day at the "office"! :-)
One of our mares and her daughter.
A couple of our colts "horsing" around! Teehehee!
This is probably one of my favorites! I love it so much!
You can see more of Heiko's photos at his website...and trust me, it is worth taking a peek!
Okay...that's all from me tonight! I will be back tomorrow with something new for you to see! :-) Hugs, Laurie
