A great big happy Monday to you! You all know how fond I am of making card sets! Well, I thought I would share the latest one I made with you...
Yep, I'm back to whippin' up some clean & simple projects! Ok..now for a little confession. When I came up with this color combo for my Autumn card set, I just about popped a couple of buttons! I know, I know...pride is not a good quality. But you have to understand, I don't usually come up with cool color combos. I usually stick with traditional ones and call it good. So, you can see why I was rather pleased with myself! :-) O.k., popping a couple of buttons might be a tad overstated...but in all honesty I was tickled!
So let me tell you about the cards and how I packaged them.
I used the Ferns & Fiddles set (from Flourishes) set to create six 4" square note cards and matching envelopes.
I embossed the fern images using Versamark ink and Clear Detail embossing powder.
The sentiment was stamped using Rich Cocoa Memento ink.
I contemplated adding ribbon..because a card isn't finished unless it has ribbon, right? That's when I had my card-making epiphany! You might want to sit down for this one... I discovered that sometimes less really is more! I know, I shocked myself with that one! {{giggle}}
Now for the packaging. I created a little box using heavyweight Clear Acetate. I then wrapped a small strip of cream cardstock around the center. To tie in the colors, I added some circles (punched out with my 3/4" circle punch) using the three colors of the cards. I then tied it up with some string and a rustic wood button.
Kind of modern, kind of funky, and definitely clean & simple, but I love how it turned out!
Thats all from me today! I hope you have a fabulously creative Monday! ~Laurie
