Today, the Design Team is sharing projects made with the soon to be released Seasonal Remedies set! Oh. My. WORD! Just wait until you see this fantastic set! Squeeeaaal! I plan on making many of our Christmas gifts this year and the stamps in this set are SO perfect for this!
For my projects, I did a trial run of sorts, for some of the gifts I plan on making this year. Well, technically I didn't make the first one (it's store bought sparkling apple cider). I like to have some of these made up to bring as hostess gifts. The middle gift is some strawberry preserves that I dressed up a bit. :-) The third is some homemade wassail (the recipe is posted below). All in all, these gifts did not take very long to put together, but the ornate and detailed labels make them look like it did! I love it!
To create this tag, I layered my embossed tag image (don't you just love how the effervescent part goes so well with sparkling apple cider??) on to a rosette created from patterned paper, layered those onto a die cut made from the Lotus Spellbinders die, and then added in some leaves.
For my preserves label, I embossed it onto some patterned paper and adhered it to the jar! Easy as pie! I just love how detailed these labels are...they don't even need any sprucing up! :-)
For my homemade wassail, I kept the packaging very simple. I created a tag using one of the new images (did you see that it actually says Wassail & Co. on the top!!!!). Some buttons, ribbons, and a bit of burlap was all that I added to this!
Since my family loves this wassail so much, I thought I'd share the recipe with you...
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c sugar (I actually use a little less)
8 c apple cider
2 c orange juice (I use the kind with lots of pulp)
12 whole cloves
2-3 whole cinnamon sticks
Sliced oranges (with peel)
Bring all ingredients to a boil. Turn the heat down and simmer for 30-40 minutes. (This also does well in a crock pot). The longer you "steep" these ingredients, the stronger the flavor. Garnish with orange slices.
I hope you have enjoyed these projects today! :-) For more inspiration, make sure to check what the other ladies have created:
