I used the new Birthday Sampler stamp set for my card!  I combined it with the new Cupcake and Streamers Dies.  I also stamped the coordinating Streamers image from the new Streamers stamp set.  :-)  So much new goodness coming your way February 1st!

Good morning!  It's another day of inspiration over at the Bella BLVD blog!  :-)

Today, the new Sand & Surf collection is being showcased!  I just adore this bright, sunny collection...perfect for vacation projects, but also a happy pick me up!  :-)

This is another card I created for the Bella CHA booth.  I used the some of the new Sand & Surf papers along with the new Sand & Surf stamp set (the flower, arrow, and sentiment were all stamped)!

I added some glitter to the flower.  I do love a sparkly flower!  :-)

Love & Marriage...

Good morning!  The inspiration is continuing over at the Bella BLVD blog!  Today they are showcasing more Love & Marriage projects that were displayed in their CHA booth.

Here are a couple of cards that I created that are being shown on the Bella Blog today...

For my frist card, I used an image and sentiment from the new Love & Marriage stamp set!  I combined it with some papers and flag form the Love & Marriage collection.

Does that flower look familiar?  :-)  I had some leftover flowers from the wedding bouquet that I created, so I decided to put them to good use!

You might recognize this card, as I showed a little peek of it a while ago!  I used papers and a sticker from the Love & Marriage collection along with one of Bella's brand new feathers!  Eeep!  I LOVE these feathers!!  And from all of the reviews I've read from CHA, so did a lot of other people!  :-)

I used another sentiment from the new Love & Marriage stamp set to complete the card.  One more note about the patterned paper...don't you love the neutral color?  There are three in this color included in the collection (all with different patters) and I adore them!  :-)

Good morning!  The inspiration continues over at the Bella blog!  The amount of eye candy that has been shown over there is unreal!  All of these projects were made for the CHA booth using the brand new (soon to be released) collections!

Out of all the cards that I made for Bella's CHA booth this year, this is my favorite!  I know, it's a rather simple one...but the patterned paper is my favorite, the Crochet Heart is my favorite, and the colors...yep, you guessed it...they're my favorite!  LOL!  It's hard to pick a favorite when there are so many gorgeous things, but this large, pink chevron paper is SO pretty!!

Except for the Crochet Heart and Star Button, everything else is from the new Engaged At Last collection! 

I made an elongated "gate fold" card with a heart cutout (using my Silhouette Cameo).  The card stays closed because of the ribbon.  Once the recipient opens the ribbon, the card will open up.

Well, today is laundry day for me.  Normally, the whole laundry room is filled to the brim (there are six of us) but I've been keeping up with it this week!  Yay me!  LOL!  I always tell myself that I'm going to do that...but time slips away.  We're also finishing up painting Ali's room.  She outgrew the spring green color that she insisted on having six years ago!  LOL!  Now she has a soft, creamy tan (which she picked out herself).  Before we came home from Seattle, my DH took down her loft bed (not a good idea to have right after two brain surgeries) and installed new furniture.  Her furniture is all white.  Her new bedding is white with large black damasks on it.  She has a few soft aqua and pink accents.  Her bedroom is rather small, so all of the white furniture really help to make it feel bigger!  :-)

Wow, I'm really on a roll with my chattering!  I think someone is not wanting to do laundry...  Teeheeee!

Glitz Step By Step Saturday - Handmade Embellishements...

 

Happy Saturday!  It's my turn to share a project (complete with lots of photos) with step by step instructions!

Today, I'm going to share how to create a couple of my most favorite handmade embellishments!

I love to add dimension to my cards!  From layered and stitched focal images to glittery paper flowers, I'll share how I make them...all using some of the brand new Glitz goodies!

To start, I cut out several hearts using three different patterned papers (from the Color Me Happy Collection) as well as two vellum ones.  I used my electronic cutting machine, but you could cut these out by hand (there are lots of free templates available online) or your favorite nesting dies.

I added adhesive only to the center of each heart (because I plan on curling up the edges for added diemension) and then stitched down the center.

To finish it off, I added one of the new Color Me Happy Giant Rhinestones to the center.  It's so bright and happy, don't you think?  :-)

Here's a peek at it with the edges all curled up a bit.  I really like the added dimension this gives!

I added my layered heart on some other coordinating Color Me Happy goodies, and then added some ribbon, a Journaling Sticker, and a bit of Woodgrain Tape.

Up next, I'll show you how I like to make paper flowers (like the one on top of the cupcake)!

First, I cut out a rolled flower shape using some new Love You Madly paper.  Again, I used my electronic cutting machine, but there are templates available online that you can cut out by hand or use your favorite die).

Next, I like to ink up the edges (you only need to ink the scalloped edges).  I think it gives the flower a little bit more depth.

Next, I roll up the flower.  I like to use a thick handled paint brush, but a pencil will work as well.

After the flower is all rolled up, remove your paint brush (or pencil) and let go of the flower.  It will spring back a bit.  Depending on how tightly rolled I want my flower, I might leave it as is or unroll it a bit more to open it up a bit.  The next step is to glue the flower down.  I like to use my hot glue gun because, well...I like the instant gratification!  :-)

Next, I curl some of the petals down.  Another option would be to curl them before you roll up the flower (this gives a more dramatic effect).  If you do that, make sure to be very gently while you are rolling so as not to tear the paper.

In this photo, you can see the hot glue that I used to secure the flower.  You can hide this by adding glitter, micro beads, or pearls.

I wanted a sparkly flower, so I opted to add glitter to not only the center, but the petals as well.

After the flower was dry, I added it to the top of a cupcake that I created using more Love You Madly goodies!  I stamped the numbers 1 and 7 on the cupcake (using the new Love You Madly rubber stamps) as I plan on giving this to my daughter for her 17th birthday!  :-)
