Just Give Me Stamps...

For the Record...

Good morning (again)!  If you missed my first post, please scroll down!  :-)

I always have the best intentions of playing along in some of the many sketch challenges out there...but never do.  I find when I sit down to stamp, I don't like to be restricted by a certain sketch and just see where the moment takes me.  Weird, I know...but hey, I've never claimed to be a normal stamper!  LOL!

There are exceptions to this though.  Yesterday was one of those...as soon as I saw this week's Clean & Simple sketch I immediately had my card planned out!  What's even better is that it came together just as quickly!  I love it when that happens!  :-)

I used two of the latest Reverse Confetti sets - Whole Lotta Dots and Inner Rock Star to create my card.  I plan on keeping this card for my boys' teachers this year.  It's a small, rural school and these two teachers do SO much!  :-)

As I mentioned above, I used this week's Clean & Simple Sketch (# 256).  It's such a great sketch...one that I know I will be using again!  :-)

Kim has done it again!  You are in for such a treat...she has cooked up some amazing stamps and dies for you!  For my card, I used the new Royal Cuteness stamp set. Royal Cuteness indeed...this set is SO fun!  This sweet smiling frog stole my heart the first time I saw him and I knew he would make his way onto my first card!  :-)

Sharing Some Bella Cards & Bella's DT Call...

Good morning!  Today I sent my son off to high school.  How did that happen??  It really seems just like yesterday that he was just learning to read...and now he's a freshman?  Sigh...  It was too dark when he left this morning to get a good photo, but I informed him that both He and Ali will be posing for pictures this weekend!  So I will share some soon...  :-)

For this week's Bella trend challenge, we were to create some cards featuring confetti.  It seems that confetti is very popular in the scrapbooking/stamping world at the moment and I found this challenge to be SO fun!

Here's what I came up with...

 

For this card, I took the confetti theme and ran with it!     I started by cutting some circles out of the Snapshots background paper with my Silhouette Cameo and then backing it with a coordinating cardstock color.  After layering on a piece of coordinating patterned paper, some new Snapshots Paper Pieces (that I added some chunky glitter to), and a heart sticker (from the new Snapshots Captions sheet) I sprinkled on some white sequins.

I couldn't help myself...when I first saw the confetti theme for this week, I immediately thought of the Trick or Treat collection! I couldn't wait to splatter some stars over some of the super cute Trick or Treat papers!  And because I think confetti and glitter go together, I added some sparkly black glitter around the edges of the Daily Detail that I chose for the focal image.  For the sentiment, I popped up a sticker from the Trick or Treat Captions.

Now, I have some fun news to share with you!  Bella BLVD is having their annual Design Team Call!  If you are drawn to the fun colors and patterns that Bella is so famous for, I encourage you to try out!  I can't believe it's only been a year for me...but it's been such a fun one!  I remember thinking that I probably won't be chosen, but I wanted to try out anyway.  I am SO glad I did!  It's such a fun and well organized team and the products are FABULOUS!!!

Paper Smooches and Tsukineko DT Hop...

Today the Paper Smooches design team is stamping with a generous donation from Tsukineko.  We are using their new Luxe inks.  ONE winner will be chosen from one of the design team blogs to receive an amazing prize package. Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm super picky when it comes to ink!  I like good coverage...not spotty or faded.  When I first got my hands on these new Tsukineko Luxe inks I was in heaven!  They are pigment based (which means they be used on a variety of surfaces...not just paper), super juicy, and stamp beautifully! 

I was so impressed with the coverage and couldn't wait to try them out on fabric!  I had purchased a set of three long sleeve onesies for our upcoming arrival (our newest son is due in just over a month) and I relaly wanted to personalize them!

Because I've used many fabric inks in the past that have not held up well in the wash...I was eager to see how this new ink held up after being washed and dried.  So, here are photos of the onesies after the wash (which look just like they did right after I stamped them!!)...

 

I have always loved the bold anchor in Kim's Wicked Nauticool set (and anything nautical is so trendy right now :-) and I thought it would look great on a onesie!  On the first onesie, I stamped the anchor using the Gray Flannel Memento Luxe ink.

On the next onesie, I used stamps from the Grafitti alphabet set to stamp his name (with the Teal Zeal Memento Luxe ink pad).  I then stamped the little star (from the Wicked Nauticool set) all around his name using the Gray Flannel Memento Luxe ink.

For my final onesie, I used the same anchor image as above but this time I stamped it using the Teal Zeal Memento Luxe ink.  I so love these colors!!  :-)
