SFYTT - Summer Lovin'

 

Good morning!  I'm playing along with the brand new Sketch For You to Try!  You can find all the details on the sketch challenge (along with the fabulous prize you can win) over at the Reverse Confetti Blog!

 

Isn't this a fun sketch?  I'm really loving all the added fun layers!  You know, I used to add a ton of layers to almost every card I made...but then kind of got caught up in the CAS movement.  I still do love me a CAS card, but I do miss the wonderful layers! 

Speaking of layers, I chose colors for my card that when layered together would really cause the pineapples to pop!  I used two different pineapple images (from the Pineapples Aplenty stamp set) as well as the coordinating Pineapples Aplenty Confetti Cuts.

 

I layered the pineapples on a black die cut created from the Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts.

 

 

SFYTT NOTES TO KNOW:

 

There will be a new sketch posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 1st of each month.

 

The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 14th. The sketch will be posted in the sidebar and you will be able to click on it to get to that month’s SFYTT post with the link list during this time.

You're So Sweet...

Good morning!  I have a fun card to share with you today!  I've had it sitting on my desk for a while, and when I was getting ready to write in it I realized that I hadn't taken a picture of it yet!  :-)

 

I love, love, love the new We Go Together stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps!  The super cute images and sweet sentiments make me smile!  I cut out the images using the coordinating We Go Together dies.  The tag is from the Folding Tag Die set.

The background is one that I just did some quick, mess watercoloring.  I then spritzed on some darker color.  Sot that the images would pop a little more, I added a piece of patterned vellum over the background.

Oooh, I do love me some stripes!!  Throw in some polka dots with those stripes and I'm one happy girl!  :-)  That is exactly what I did with my card!  I started with some strips of cardstock to create a bold, striped background.  I layered on some polka dotted vellum and stitched it along the top.  (Here's a secret...I usually add a little adhesive to the vellum as well but only in places I know there will be things covering it.)  For the sentiment, I embossed one of the sentiments from the Sparkly Dreams set and then cut it out using the Flourished Tag Die Set.

For the butterflies, I embossed the gorgeous butterfly from the Sparkly Dreams set in white, did a quick messy watercoloring on them, and then cut them out using the Butterfly Dreams Die Set.

Reverse Confetti July Release Hop...

 

Good morning!  Welcome to the July Reverse Confetti release hop!  All of the new goodies that you have been seeing over the past few days are now available over at the Reverse Confetti store!

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have made it here from Sarah Gough's blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all the new Reverse Confetti stamp sets and dies!

 

For my card, I used the new You Are A Star stamp set and coordinating You Are A Star Confetti Cuts die set.  For the background, I layered a kraft piece of cardstock cut out with the Woodgrain Confetti Cuts die.  I love the subtle embossed pattern!
