You guys! There is a new Moments Inked product that just released and let me tell you, it's a game changer! The new Weekly Meal Planning system is available in both Binder and Spiral Bound editions! I've been using it for the past week and a half and I am completely smitten!
You all know that I live an hour from, well...anything (including the nearest grocery store). You may also know that I have five children, four of them being boys with huge appetites. What this all means is that I have got to be organized with my meal planning! I don't always succeed, but over the years I have gained experience in this area. In fact, in my pursuit of meal planning nirvana, I have tried many, many different organizational methods. I have found, however, that the busier I become means the less time I have to spend on actually organizing.
The first thing I realized when I received this meal planner, was that it was going to save me time! Attached to the actual menu sheet is a removable grocery list (pictured farther below). Not only that, but I can save past weekly menus to rotate later on. I actually plan on highlighting the meals that my family really loves so that I can easily find them again later. And the best part of all of this? Because I already use the Binder Planner System, I can add the meal pages to my binder to have at my fingertips!
Another of my favorite features of this system, is the "Recipe Location" and special meal defrost/prep/slow cooker check options! Like most of you, I'm sure, I use recipes from many different sources. My favorite is my ever growing collection of cookbooks. I love that it prompts me to write down this information so I'm not wasting time hunting the recipe down later in the week.
Here's a photo of the attached grocery list. It tucks behind the menu page but can be folded out for quick planning. It also has a perforated edge, making it very easy to tear it off and tuck it into my purse when I'm off to town!
I love how colorful the menu pages are! I wanted to continue that theme, so I added a piece of Scalloped Skinny Washi tape on the top of my grocery list. By the way, Papertrey now carries three different skinny washi tape assortments!! Love this!!
The back of the menu page offers more room for lists and notes! Not pictured here, but I made myself a note regarding the Nusszopf that I plan on baking on Sunday. This particular bread is altitude sensitive and I wanted to remind myself of that. I love that there is now room for those things! :-)
And how clever to add a list of errands to the back of the shopping list? The whole system is downright genius. Before I go, remember THIS menu planning page that I shared earlier this year? It has been what I was using up until this new system. Unfortunately, the dry erase marker kept erasing while it was tucked away in my binder. And it didn't have the attached list. See what I mean? This new system is a menu planning game changer!
One other note. Did you all see Ashley's review of the menu planner? I was so excited about her idea to use the spiral bound menu planner version to organize school lunches! Genius!! I am going to order the spiral version to do this very thing! :-)
Thanks so much for joining me here today!
