Welcome to the first day of Papertrey's December release group posts! I'm so excited to be sharing projects along with the Papertrey design team this month!
Today we are featuring two new sets that celebrate love! To Have & To Hold is a beautiful and versatile set designed by Heather Nichols. With so many ways to customize the lovely heart, it is sure to appeal to any style! The second set featured today is the latest in the Paper Clippings line up called Paper Clippings: Love Story. Betsy Veldman has created a fairy tale worthy set, complete with elegantly detailed dies.
All of the new products will be at 10 pm EST on December 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.
My first project features the new To Have & To Hold set by Heather Nichols. I stamped the large heart in black ink on White Linen cardstock. I embossed a couple of the smaller flowers using two different opaque blue embossing powders.
The sentiment is embossed in the middle, using detail gold embossing powder. I added layers of vellum cardstock and Gold Luxe Foil Patterned Paper. The bottom layer is a piece of patterned paper from the Vintage Linens Patterned Paper Collection. For embellishment, I tucked in a folded strip of True Black Stitched Ribbon.
Stamps: To Have & To Hold
Paper: White Linen Cardstock, Vellum Cardstock, Gold Luxe Foil Patterned Paper, Vintage Linens Patterned Paper Collection
Ink: True Black, Versamark, Harvest Gold
Other: True Black Stitched Ribbon, Gold embossing powder, Teal & Powder Zing! embossing powders
My next card also features the To Have & To Hold stamp set. For this card I used the coordinating To Have & To Hold dies do create a dimensional floral focal image. The sentiment is stamped on the banner from the Tag Sale: Quilted die set.
I embellished with some pearls and a little bit of clear glitter around the scallop frame. I then mounted it on some of the new Lilac Grace cardstock.
The square scallop layer is actually from the Tag Sale: Quilted die set as well.
I didn't want the tag portion on my card, so using the same die I was able to run it through my die machine a second time to achieve the scallop square shape. I flipped the die cut tag upside down, lined the edges up with the scallops, and then secured it with some washi tape.
Stamps: To Have & To Hold
Dies: To Have & To Hold, Tag Sale: Quilted
Paper: Stampers Select White Cardstock, Lilac Grace
Ink: Lilac Grace, Harvest Gold, Spring Moss, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse, Aqua Mist, Amethyst Allure, Smokey Shadow
Other: Glitter, twine, Pearls
My final project features the new Paper Clippings: Love Story by Betsy Veldman. I started by die cutting the Paper Clippings: Love Story die using Stamper's Select White cardstock. I then embossed the entire die cut using my Versamark ink pad and gold embossing powder. I did this rather than using gold cardstock because I found that the embossing made the finished die cut sturdier and easier to handle. With all of the fine details, I was afraid the gold cardstock wouldn't hold up as well.
I adhered the gold die cut onto a piece of white cardstock that I had already spattered black paint onto. For embellishment I added some black twine and a couple of flowers.
For the book detail, I stamped the three book layers using different gray colors. I love that the book layers are all separate images, making it so easy to create a custom image! I added the two sentiments, embossing the second one. I then die cut the book out using the Paper Clippings: Love Story Details die set.
