Welcome to the third day of Papertrey's December release group posts! I'm so excited to be sharing projects along with the Papertrey design team this month!
Valentine's Day has always been a favorite holiday of mine. I just love that there is a whole day dedicated to letting others know that they are special and cared about! Creating heartfelt gifts and cards for my kids and their classmates is something that I look forward to every year! The new products being showcased today are not only perfect for creating cute and clever Valentine's Day gifts but are versatile enough to be used year round!
All of the new products will be at 10 pm EST on December 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.
My first project features the new Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love by Betsy Veldman. One of my favorite things to give out as gifts for Valentine's Day is sugarless gum. I wrapped up a couple of gum packs with some Vellum Patterned Paper. I like that the vellum gives a subtle pattern while still allowing the recipient to see what the product is.
I decorated the front with the adorable little puppy from the Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love set (die cut with the coordinating Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love die set). This cute little guy was the perfect size for the gum packs! I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut tag (from the Tremendous Tags die set) and added a miniature heart button.
To create the arrow shaft, I started by cutting apart a wooden skewer. Using the Heart Prints die set, I die cut two large cardstock heart and then glued them on to the end of the skewer. Using the medium sized die I die cut a felt heart and adhered it to the larger one. The "fletching" is just punched out cardstock chevrons.
I secured each wooden skewer pieces at each end of the gum pack by puncturing the gum pack a little bit. I didn't need any adhesive as the skewers felt very secure.

For my next project I created a soft and feminine card. Using both the Dress Up Dolls: Basics stamp set (and coordinating Dress Up Dolls: Basics die set) and Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love set (and coordinating Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love die set) I created the focal images for my card.
I tucked in some hearts from the Limitless Layers: 2 1/4" Hearts die set and a couple of stitched flags die cut from the Frames - Keep It Simple die set. I had a lot of fun putting this card together! I dug into my patterned paper scraps and chose several different patterns.
The sentiment is stamped on a stitched oval die cut from the Noted: Scalloped A1 die set. The background layers is die cut from the Monthly Moments: Spiral Notebook die.
That little puppy is just too cute! And how fun is it that the leash has a loop that you can hook around the Dress Up Doll's hand? So Clever! The cute little puppy even has his very own collar! I die cut it out of Luxe Silver Adhesive Paper.
