Welcome back to the third day of Papertrey Ink's March release inspiration posts! Today, I have a post that is brimming with Spring colors and images! I'm so excited to share them with you!
The new Cutaway Tags: Spring stamp with coordinating die is absolutely gorgeous! My favorite thing about this set is that you can spend as much or as little time as you want to! For a more detailed card, like I did, you can stamp each of the images onto the die cut tag. For a quicker card, you can die cut the tag, add a sentiment, and maybe a stamped flower or two and you're done! The gorgeous detail in the die cut tag really is a showstopper all on its own, but I appreciate having the option of stamping the images as well. Nichole really thought of everything!
I created two very similar cards, just changing out the cardstock color and sentiment. I embossed the polka dots (from the Polka Dots Basics stamp set) using white embossing powder. I die cut each card base out using the Noted: Scalloped Square die set.
After stamping all of the elements on my card I covered the whole thing with a fine glitter. I have found the quickest way to do this is to use spray adhesive. Tip: make sure you use the spray adhesive in a well ventilated area!
I created the sentiment layer kind of by accident. I had originally stamped the sentiment onto the tag but found that it didn't stand out enough after it was covered with glitter. So I decided to create another layer allowing the sentiment to take center stage. I did this by die cutting a second tag and then cut out the center strip using an exacto knife.
Before mounting the tag to the card, I backed it with vellum cardstock. For embellishment, I added a little wooden butterfly and a string bow.
I just LOVE the new Carrot Treat Box Die Set that Lizzie Jones has designed! They are so very fun to make and actually come together very quickly! I also love that they are large enough to hold a small gift as well as many different goodies! I decided to create a trio of pastel colored carrots, perfect for tucking into an Easter basket or even at a place setting.
To create each box, I die cut the box die twice for each color. Each carrot requires two of the die cut pieces, but with the attached flaps they are super easy to adhere together.
Before assembling the boxes, I stamped one of the flowers from the new Courage & Kindness stamp set. I used an ink that was a shade darker than each of the cardstock colors so that the flowers would really show up.
To decorate the front of each box, I die cut the triangle frame in the same color cardstock as the box. Just look at that beautiful embossing detail on the frame, it's one of my favorite things about this die set! The sweet little bunnies are from the new So Sweet stamp set, designed by Heather Nichols. I stamped the outline image using True Black ink and then stamped each of the solid images using inks that coordinated with the cardstock.
This die set comes with a couple different tag options, but as I plan on using these for favors I decided not to add a tag. To tie the box together, I used some green twine and a couple of felt strips (die cut with the long rectangular shaped die included in the die set).
I'm so glad you stopped by today!
Hugs,
Laurie
