Hello friends! I'm back today, sharing a couple more cards I created for the March Papertrey Ink release! I am loving the new release format, which spreads the release inspiration out over five days following the 15th!
Today I have two cards to share with you, both using sets illustrated by Lizzie Jones!
I don't know about you, but I always seem to be needing a masculine birthday card! I thought the new Offbeat Birthday set would be perfect to create some easy to assemble cards to restock my depleted stash.
I started by die cutting the numbers (I used the By The Numbers Mats die set) out of three different colors. I wanted bold colors, but still with an earthy feel so I chose Tropical Teal, Kraft, and Dark Indigo. I then adhered them to a Soft Stone mat and card base.
For the focal image, I started by die cutting the stitched rectangle (from the Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die set) out of Fresh Snow Linen Cardstock. I embossed the sentiment from the Offbeat Birthday stamp set onto the rectangle and then adhered it to my card using dimensional foam. For an extra pop of color, I die cut the smallest star from the Seeing Stars die set out of Canyon Clay cardstock and adhered it to the rectangle.
I decided on a soft, feminine theme for this next card. :-) I started by stamping a Fine Linen cardstock layer with the new Beautiful Berries: Spring stamp set. I seriously cannot get enough of this set! I want to stamp berries on ALL the things! :-)
Once the background was stamped, I die cut the two holes using the new All Tied Up die and then attached my balloon. This is just such a clever and fun way to send birthday cards, don't you think?
I stamped the sentiment (from the new Inflate & Celebrate stamp set) onto a die cut banner (from the Banner Style die set). I popped the banner up using dimensional foam. Before adhering my top layer to my card, I used a stylus to create an embossed frame around the Kraft card base. I love this technique because it gives the illusion of more layers without actually creating more bulk!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'll have more projects for you tomorrow!
Hugs,
Laurie
