Gina K Designs: StampTV Kit Inspiration Blog Hop - Day 1

This is such a fun kit!  I am totally smitten with the large "you" die!  For my first card, I paired the die with one of the sentiments from the Boho Flowers stamp set.  For the background, I used one of Gina's stencils and some Distress Sprays.  I embossed the butterfly, colored it in with some watercolor paint, and die cut it out and adhered it to my card.

 

This second card is one that I showed at the release party, but thought that I would share it here as well.  I absolutely love that this comes with the coordinating dies!

Bella Blvd - Using Scraps on Cards

Hi friends!  This week, the Bella Blvd Creative Team is being challenge to create projects using scraps!   This is a wonderful challenge for me as I always keep all of my paper scraps.  I mean, the paper is just too pretty to toss!  :-)

I have two cards to share with you, both of them featuring lots and lots of paper scraps!

 

For my first card, I did one of my favorite things with scraps...tear the bottom and layer them on top of each other!  The white torn edge helps to differentiate the different patterns and gives a visual break without adding extra cardstock mats.  I embellished with several Paper Pieces from the Illustrated Faith Basics collection. 

 

 

My second card features scraps from the Make Your Mark collection (one of my favorites)!  The gold "Believe In Yourself" sentiment is actually the bottom of one of the 6 x 8 Paper Pad pages.  I had used the top part on a different project months ago but couldn't part with the lovely lettering so I kept it.  I'm so glad I did!  I made it the focal image of my card, adding in more scrap layers behind it.

The striped gold paper is from the 6 x 8 Clear Cuts pad and I had just enough left to add this layer to my card.  It was perfect!  Again, I embellished with Paper Pieces.  I also added in some stickers from the Fundamentals sticker sheet and one of the Puffy Stickers.

My card features the new Wavy Wishes stamp set.  I absolutely LOVE this one of a kind stamp set!  And I love how it works perfect with the Wavy Pattern Die Set.  I also love how there are images and sentiments included that can be used year round!  I was particularly smitten with the cute bird and holly leaves, so I decided to create a Christmas card.  I die cut the holly and bird out using the coordinating Wavy Wishes Icons die set.

Thanks So Berry Much

Hi friends!  I'm playing along with this month's  Sketch For You to Try!  You can find all the details on the sketch challenge (along with the fabulous prize you can win) over at the Reverse Confetti Blog!  There is still time to enter and the prize really is fantastic, not to mention a crazy fun sketch!  :-)

Here's this month's sketch...

 

I used one of my favorite Reverse Confetti sets, Berry Sweet along with the coordinating Berry Sweet Confetti Cuts die set.  I just love that the berries are open, so you can color them!  I also love the caaaauuuuute little flowers!  :-)

For the background, I die cut the Drop Cover Panel Confetti Cuts die out of Piggy Bank cardstock.  I framed the berries using one of the frames from the All Framed Up Confetti Cuts die and one of the frames from the Lacy Scallop Frame Confetti Cuts die set.  I've never thought of combining these frames together before but I am digging the result! 

I stamped the leaves and strawberry tops using the Lime Green and Parakeet ink pads.  For the flowers, I stamped them in Piggy Bank and Rose ink pads.

This is the card I created after watching Melanie's video!  I am absolutely smitten with this technique!!  I used the Pressed Flowers 2 stamp set and coordinating Pressed Flowers 2 Die Set along with the Massive Messages set.
