Hey friends! I'm hosting this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge!
One of my favorite techniques is color blocking and today I'm sharing my top three ways to achieve this look!
You can find more details about the challenge over at Nichole Heady's blog.
In the video, I shared three ways to achieve the color blocking look: using cardstock, using ink, and with stamping.
For this card, I painted the background using watercolor paint. Even though I did lightly blend the colors together, you can still see the three distinct rectangles of color. :-) I used the Cloche Quarters and Cloche Quarters: Summer Fillers for the focal image and one of the sentiments form the Pen & Ink stamp set.
This card features bold strips of color for the background. Using cardstock is definitely my favorite way of color blocking. The focal images are from the new Fruit Salad: Citrus die set and the sentiment is from the Fruit Salad Sentiments stamp set.
My final card uses tamping to achieve the color blocking look. I used one of the stamps from the Brushed Off stamp set and three different pink ink pads. The butterfly is from the Life Is Beautiful Die Set and the sentiment is from the Life Is Beautiful stamp set.
I hope you get a chance to play along with this week's challenge!
Thanks for stopping by,
Laurie
