Inspired Christmas

Hi friends! I'm hosting this week's MIUM challenge over at StampTV!

I chose a fun inspiration photo for this week. You can see the photo (as well as the details on how you can win a prize for participating) HERE.

I was definitely inspired by the beautiful colors form the inspiration photo! I tried to incorporate all of them on my card: turquoise, white, silver, and gold. I used stamps and dies from the Merry & Bright StampTV Kit.

It's hard to see in the photos, but the ornament on the right actually has a very light silver wash over the white embossing. It does show up more in person. :-)

I was enjoying the colors so much that I decided to make another project, this time a little tag. The tag shape was die cut using the Gina K. Designs Decorative Tag Dies. The stitched oval die is from the Fabulous Label Die Set.

Kim has done it again! You all are in for such a treat this month! In typical Paper Smooches style, this month's release is full of fun and unique stamps and dies! My card today features the new Ribbon Dies. Although these can be used alone (or in a wreath or flower arrangement), I thought they would look super cute on top of gifts! To create the gifts, I just cut rectangles and squares out of patterned paper.

The sentiment is from the new All Year Cheer stamp set (also releasing in a few days).

Love of Layers

Hey friends! I'm hosting this week's Make It Monday challenge!

If you've followed my blog for a while, I'm sure you already know how much I love layers! This week, the theme of the challenge is all about layering! If you are a Clean & Simple type of person, have no fear! There are all sorts of way to add layers to your projects: cardstock layers (my favorite Ha!), ink layers, and even die cut layers!

On my card, I used all three layering techniques, cardstock, ink, and die cut layers.

I combined foliage from the Spruce & Sprigs and Holiday Greens stamp sets.

For the focal image, I embossed the sentiment from Pen & Ink: Christmas and die cut it using the Tag Sale #12 die set.

for embellishment, I added some string to the tag and scattered on a few sequins.

For my second card, I also started with the Black Friday Foam Front Card Bundle. I die cut the top layer using the Foam Front Die - Oval. I filled the shaker with the following Toppings, Sequins, Pops, and Tiny Bubbles. The die cut sentiments are from the Black Friday Word Dies 1 die set. I decorated the card front using flowers and pearls from the Black Friday Binder set. I added a bow made out of Orange Sparkle String.

My first card features several dies from the new Four Seasons by Lene Lok collection. I used the following die sets: Shapeabilities Four Seasons Tree, Shapeabilities Wreath Elements, and Die D-Lites Seasonal Words. The sentiment is from the Reverse Confetti Autumn Blessings set.

I stacked several of the Autumn sentiment die cuts to create a more dimensional look. I've really been on a non-traditional holiday colors kick lately!

I splattered on some silver acrylic paint onto the background to lighten it up a bit.

My next card features the snowflake die from the Shapeabilities Wreath Elements Etched Four Seasons by Lene Lok. I started by sponging the background with three different Distress Oxide inks. I die cut the snowflakes die three times. This was easy because the snowflakes are one die, a set of five in a row. I die cut the snowflakes again out of white cardstock and then added them to sponged background. I backed the snowflake layer with some shiny silver cardstock.
