Hi friends! Today is the first day of the December Papertrey Ink countdown posts! This release is full of amazing stamps, dies, patterned papers, and even some new stencils!
I'm helping to introduce the brand new Everyday Affection stamp set (illustrated by Lizzie Jones) and Mix & Mat: Hearts die set (by Betsy Veldman).
For my first project, I combined several new products. I started by sponging the background using the new Stencil Basics: Hexagons with white pigment ink on Berry Sorbet cardstock.
Those gorgeous flowers are from Dawn's new Farmer's Market Florals stamp set
I used two of the dies from the Mix & Mat: Hearts die set. I absolutely LOVE Betsy's Mix & Mat series! Those arrows are so unique! I love how they are subtle yet still make a big impact!
The sentiment is from Lizzie's new Everyday Affection stamp set. This is a great set, and one that will be useful year round! After all, telling loved ones how special they are is always in season! :-)

I'll admit it. I have a serious addiction to love for black cardstock! I am always afraid of getting stuck in a design rut, but honestly I just can't help myself! I love especially love Papertrey's True Black cardstock, the heavy weight and deep saturation really sets it apart!
I used all three dies from the Mix & Mat: Hearts die set for my background. I die cut the smaller die (with all of the hearts) out of several different colors and adhered the hearts inside the black one to create an inlaid look. Have I mentioned how much I love black cardstock? (((grin)))
I embossed another one of the super cute sentiments from the Everyday Affection stamp set and added it as a banner over the top layer. For embellishment, I tied on some black Baker's Twine.

For my final card I paired the Everyday Affection stamp set with a couple of older dies. I started by die cutting the Cover Plate: Hearts out of white cardstock and layered it on a white card base. I stamped the smallest heart from the Everyday Affection stamp set in each of the die cut hearts.
I die cut the largest heart from the Heart Prints die from Raspberry Fizz, Harvest Gold, and Hawaiian Shores felt. I added a bit of stitching and a coordinating button on each heart.
For the sentiment, I again used the Everyday Affection stamp set. Lizzie has added some fillers for the couple of outline words in this set (like the "you" above) but I chose to leave it open for this card.
