Hi friends!  I'm playing along with this month's  Sketch For You to Try!  You can find all the details on the sketch challenge (along with the fabulous prize you can win) over at the Reverse Confetti Blog!  There is still time to enter and the prize really is fantastic, not to mention a crazy fun sketch!  :-)

Here's this month's sketch...

And here is what I came up with...

 

I thought this sketch was perfect for a CAS design, so that is what I did.  I wanted to use flowers for the three squares, so I searched for a large enough flower.  I chose to use the large flower from the Build A Bunch stamp set.  I embossed them using black detail embossing powder and added some color using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  I then die cut them out using the coordinating Build A Bunch Confetti Cuts die set.

For the sentiment, I embossed the thanks die from the Hello & Thanks Label Confetti Cuts die set.  To tie in the color from the flowers, I sponged on some Grape Soda ink to the bottom of the die cut.

My first card features the new Stippled Flowers Bundle (stamp set and die combo), illustrated by Alicia Krupsky!  These flowers and leaves are so pretty and I really enjoyed creating with them!   After repeatedly stamping one of the flowers on the background layer with gray ink, I added the stamped and die cut blooms and leaves.  I embossed these flowers and leaves onto watercolor paper and colored them in with some Zig Real Color Brush Markers.

 

My second card features the new Wreath Builder Mini Kit!  Oh you guys, this is THE coolest kit!!  Not only is the stamp set beautiful, but it comes with these amazing templates!  You use them with your MISTI and it enables you to easily stamp a wreath!  I want to stamp ALL the wreaths!!  Major heart eyes here!!

Brand new Gina K. Designs Release

Hey friends!  Did you all see the brand new Gina K. Designs products?  Gina unveiled the new Stippled Flowers stamp set (with coordinating die set) and the new Wreath Builder Bundle.  You guys, just wait until you see the new Wreath Builder!  It is genius!

My first card features the new Stippled Flowers stamp set, illustrated by Alicia Krupsky.  I love how this set includes both the outline and detail images.  For my card, I used both.  I stamped them using Distress Oxide ink and then took a waterbrush and moved some of the ink around just a tiny bit and then added a little bit of glitter.

 

For my second card, I used the new Wreath Builder Bundle.  I am OBSESSED with this new tool!  I love to create wreaths using flowers and now this is SO easy to do!  With the MISTI and the Wreath Builder tool, you can create wreaths using almost any image! 

  

One more thing, you guys.  This thing is a MUST have!  Seriously!  I am not a gadget/tool collector.  In fact, there are only a handful of tools that I absolutely have to have but the Tidy Towel is definitely one of them!  I can't tell you enough how much I love it!!  I keep it stored on my desk in a little snack cup (shout out to my teamie Susie for the idea) and use it ALL the time!  I haven't used any stamp cleaner with it yet, as I mostly only need water to clean my stamps but love that I can if I need to.

Transformation Tuesday - Congratulations

Good morning friends!  Did you all see the new Papertrey Ink challenge?  Today is the first day of the new Transformation Tuesday challenge and as luck would have it, it's my turn to post!  :-)  The idea is to take one of your own projects that either didn't turn out the way you envisioned or one that you would like to change up a little (either make a feminine card masculine or vise versa).

I really love this challenge, because there are countless cards that I've created that did not turn out like I wanted them to.  Sometimes I don't exactly know what I would differently until after I've already posted it. 

When I first heard about this new challenge, I immediately thought of the Swan'sational card that I created for the December 2016 release.

 

This was definitely a card that did not turn out how I had envisioned.  So, I jumped at the chance for a re-do! 
 

One of the first things I wanted to change was to emboss the swans on white cardstock instead of the dark gray.  Originally I wanted to create an elegant card, which is why I chose the dark gray, white, and gold.  I also wanted to lighten up the card a bit more so I opted to add some pastel colored flowers.




Just like on my original card, I embossed the swans from the Swan'sational stamp set and die cut them using the coordinating die set.  I also changed up the details on the background.  I still wanted the black on gray look but didn't want to repeat the flowers of my original card so they wouldn't complete with the pink flowers.  Instead I die cut the Delicate Details die using True Black cardstock and tucked them under the white layer.

For the flowers, I stamped the single lilies from the new Lilies of the Field stamp set.  I used soft shades of pink for the flowers as I thought they would lighten the dark Smokey Shadow cardstock up a bit.
