There is a brand new Gina K. Designs illustrator! Emily Schroepfer has illustrated her first set, Lettered and Lovely. Not only is her hand lettering absolutely gorgeous, but the sentiments are some of my all time favorites! I can see this becoming one of my very favorites! I especially love how she included several little extras, like the hearts and flourishes I added to my card.

To create my card, I started by sponging the background using Innocent Pink, Bubblegum Pink, and Passionate Pink inks. For even more texture, I splattered on some pink and white paint. For embellishment, I added a die cut butterfly and several flowers from my stash.

My next card features the gorgeous new mini set You Make Me Smile, illustrated by Gina! Gina's flowers just get prettier and prettier! I love this little set so much because of how versatile (and beautiful) it is! You can color the detailed blooms for a stunning, intricate card or stamp in a solid color like I did for a more modern, graphic look.

I needed a quick gift so I decided to whip up some CAS cards. Using my MISTI, it was easy to quickly stamp the flower image on three card fronts. For the sentiment strips, I chose three bright and fun colors: Jelly Bean Green, Turquoise Sea, and Passionate Pink. The great thing about Gina's cardstock is that many of the colors have matching envelopes!

Gina K. Designs March Preview - Day 2

My first card features the new Hello Beautiful set, illustrated by Lisa Hetrick. One of my favorite things about Lisa's sets is how she has enabled us regular people (as opposed to incredibly talented watercolor artists) to create beautiful works of art! I also love how this set will work wonderfully with her first set, You Are.

After stamping the leaves onto white cardstock, I added the flowers that I embossed, watercolored, and fussy cut. For embellishment, I added some sequins.

How CUTE is this lion!!??! I love his sweet face! The new Liam and Liz Lion set, illustrated by Beth Silaika, is full of super cute lions and witty sentiments! I created a fun, bright card to give to my little guy. For embellishment, I added some wooden stars.

Simple to Spectacular - Rosie Posie

Hi friends! I'm excited to be participating in my very first Papertrey Ink Simple to Spectacular post! In this post, I will share with you three progressive card designs all featuring the Rosie Posie stamp set.

I actually created these backwards, starting first with the more detailed card, then the Intermediate card, and finally the simple one. You all know how I feel about lots of layers and details...I LOVE them! Ha! It seemed a natural choice for me to start there.

My first card that I'm sharing with you is actually the third card that I created (as I mentioned above I worked backwards). It was actually easy for me to look and see what layers and details that I could eliminate to simply the design.

I added some simple ink sponging in the center of the card using Aqua Mist ink. I stenciled over that with Hawaiian Shores ink and one of the Stencil Basics: Dots stencils.

I stamped the leaves directly onto the background layer and then layered on the stamped and cut flowers. I still had to add a layer. I think my heart might stop if I actually attempted a one layer card! Ha!

For my intermediate card, I had the oval die cut leftover from my detailed card (created from the Noted: Scalloped A2 die set) and decided to use it. I ink sponged a bit on the oval and then stamped one of the sentiments from the Penned Elegance stamp set.

This time, I stamped and die cut the leaves and tucked them underneath the stamped and die cut flowers. I also added some details to the floral images using the Rosie Posie Step 2 stamp set. For the background, I used the same Dots stencil and Aqua Mist ink.

Even though I am pretty happy with all of the cards, I'm not going to lie...this one is my favorite! It just speaks to my detail and layer loving heart! Ha! Also, I created this for my sweet daughter who just celebrated her birthday. It's always fun for me to create with specific people in mind! :-)

This card, like the others, has some stenciling and ink sponging in the background.

Instead of a solid center, I created an oval frame using the Noted: Scalloped A2 die set. Using one of the same dies, I die cut the background layer as well. I added an additional layer underneath that I had already sponged with Aqua Mist ink. For the sentiment, I added a stamped and die cut layered banner (using the Banner Style stamp set). For embellishment, I sprinkled on some sequins.

Today we are featuring the new Framescapes: Window of Wishes stamp set, illustrated by Theresa Momber. Theresa has such a gift for creating unique stamp sets that are full of ways to customize your creations! This set has so many different options to add to the window: curtains, trees, a branch, a bird, and flowers.

For my card, I was immediately drawn to the trees. I wanted to create an early morning scene that reminds me of looking out one of my windows. I started by using Distress Oxide inks to sponge a background using several different blues/aquas. I then stamped the large tree cluster twice in black ink. For the window image, I stamped it on kraft cardstock and cut it out using a craft knife. After laying the cutout window image over the ink blended background I felt like it was too vibrant for the peaceful scene I wanted to create. To diffuse the colors a little, I layered some vellum underneath the cutout window image to help replicate a frosty glass look.

For the curtains, I paper pieced them using some patterned paper. I adhered the window onto patterned paper that I had already stamped with the included sentiments.
