Just Give Me Stamps...

SFYTT Hello

 

Hi friends!  Happy Monday!!  Hope you don't mind, but I'm going to whine and complain just a tiny bit.  For like 30 seconds.  Ok?  I know there are some of you experiencing cold and dreary winter weather so you will definitely understand.  I am soooooo over the cold, gray, miserable winter-ish weather!  You'd think that I would be used to this now, because it's like this almost every single year.  For some reason, I am even more restless for warmer weather this year.  I guess that's why I am so drawn to bright and fun colors lately!  So when creating my SFYTT card, I couldn't help but create with bright colors and fun, summery images!

As I mentioned above, I'm playing along with this month's  Sketch For You to Try!  You can find all the details on the sketch challenge (along with the fabulous prize you can win) over at the Reverse Confetti Blog!  There is still time to enter and the prize really is fantastic, not to mention a crazy fun sketch!  :-)

Here's this month's sketch...

And here is what I came up with....

 

Like I mentioned above, I couldn't help but reach for some bright colors and summery images!  I chose a mostly white color scheme with pops of bold colors.  I do love to add black to set those colors off...I just can't help myself!

The circle die cut is from the Lacy Scallop Circles Confetti Cuts (a favorite of mine).  I used the Pineapples a Plenty stamp set and coordinating Pineapples a Plenty Confetti Cuts die set.   After stamping the pineapple, I added some gold embossing powder the bottom...because who doesn't love gold dipped pineapples?  :-)

To tie the gold in, I die cut the Hello Confetti Cuts die using shiny gold cardstock.  The strip of black and white patterned paper is from the Every Little Bit 6x6 Paper Pad.

Spellbinders March Card Kit

 

Good morning friends!  I had some time to play in my studio the other day and created three cards with the Spellbinders March Card Kit!  I'm fairly new to card kits but am completely smitten with them!  Everything that is needed to create beautiful cards is included:  card bases, patterned paper, embellishments, exclusive dies, and even the adhesive.

 

This is the first card that I created.  I was immediately drawn to the beautiful lavender color! 

 

That lovely hello die cut is a gold covered chipboard peice that is included int he kit.  And those cute little white hearts are actually the negative pieces from one of the included dies.

 

For this card, I chose pink as the main color.   I used two of the included dies (the heart circle and the flag dies) as well as one of the clear doily pieces. 

 

I sprinkled on some pearls and a flower (all  are from the kit) as embellishment.

 

For my third card, I thought I would make a gender neutral baby card.  I am in love with this mint green color!

The gold accents really add sophistication, don't you think?

 

Just for fun, I added a bit of coordinating ink sponging on a strip of the included gold and white patterned paper.  I die cut another of the included dies to create that white rectangle frame.  There really are so many goodies included, enough to create a TON of cards!

Queen & Co - Spring Shaped Shaker Kit

Hi friends!  I've got two cards to share with you today featuring the Spring Shaped Shaker Kit!  I'm not sure what your weather is like where you live, but where I live Spring is still a good month away.  Good thing I can bring Spring in to my studio with this super cute shaker kit!

For my first card, I created a bright and cheerful shaker card using the sun shaker shape from the Spring Shaped Shaker Kit.  Using the included cloud die, I die cut two of them from patterned paper and one from white cardstock.  I added chunky clear glitter around the edge of the white cloud.  The pretty rainbow paper is from the Flirty Florals patterned paper pad.

I filled the sun shaker with a combination of Iridescent Bubbles Toppings and Pops III Toppings.  I embellished the card with a pink button from the Pink Button Bouquet Mix and Yellow Epoxy Dots.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the Spring Clear Stamps set in black ink. 

 

 

My next card features the umbrella shaker from the Spring Shaped Shaker Kit.  I die cut three clouds from vellum and a sun from soft yellow cardstock.  To add a little more depth, I sponged on some yellow ink to the bottom of the sun.  I adhered them all on a watercolored and ink splattered background.

I filled the umbrella shaker with Iridescent Bubbles Toppings and added a little string bow.  The sentiment is from the Spring Clear Stamp Set.  I embellished with white dots from the Black/White Epoxy Dots set and buttons from the Pink Button Bouquet II and Yellow Button Bouquet II mixes.

I created a Spring themed gift set for my project today.  I dressed up a Treat Tube and created a coordinating card to go with it.

 

I started by die cutting a circle frame using the Lacy Scallop Circles Confetti Cuts die set.  I added it to an ink sponged and splattered background.  For the focal images, I stamped and die cut one of the bunnies from the More Than Jellybeans stamps set and coordinating More Than Jellybeans Confetti Cuts die set.  I also tucked in some flowers and leaves from the Blooms 'n Buds stamp set and coordinating Blooms 'n Buds Confetti Cuts die set. 

 

One of my very favorite things to do with bold, solid images is to ink blend on the stamps.  This gives some visual texture and depth to the images and I love it!  The easiest way to do this is with a MISTI!  In fact, that is always how I do it.  Since it requires stamping the same image over and over, it truly is the best way to do it.

 

I created a coordinating little giftie using the Treat Tubes Confetti Cuts die (and included treat tube).  Along with the same flowers from the card, I added a banner from the Bitty Banners stamp set and coordinating Bitty Banners Confetti Cuts die set.  I adhered all of these items to a die cut tag (from the Dashed Line Tag Confetti Cuts die).

Papertrey ink March Release - Day 5

 Welcome back to the fifth and final day of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown!  Tomorrow, March 15th at 10 pm ET, all of the new products will be available.

Today I am sharing cards created with the new Stitching Garden and Words To Live By: Learn stamp sets.

 

For my first card, I chose multiple colors of purple and lavender with just a bit of Scarlet Jewel thrown in.   I can't tell you how much I love the new Stitching Garden set!   It's classy and vintage all at the same time.  I don't think I will ever be able to put this set down! 

Just look at the details in the flowers and leaves!  So pretty! 

To add a bit of texture to the background, I stenciled on some ink using the Stencil Basics: Diamond and a couple different ink colors.  Plum Pudding would have been too dark so I chose to first sponge on Raspberry Fizz and then lightly added a little Plum Pudding.  I love the violet tint the Raspberry Fizz gives it.

The gorgeous oval die cut is form the new Shape Shifters: Oval 1 die set. 

The sentiment is from the new Kindness Counts stamp set.

My second card again features the new Stitching Garden stamp set.  For this card, I chose an almost monochromatic color scheme, sticking with kraft, yellows, and grays.

I arranged the flowers on top of the bracket background layer (die cut with the previously released Mix & Mat: Brackets die set.

The sentiment is from the new Words To Live By: Learn stamp set.  I die cut the learn sentiment out of white cardstock and sponged some ink on the bottom.

I wanted to highlight the sentiment a bit so I sponged on some Fresh Snow ink.

I just love soft pinks and greens together!  I decided to create a soft card featuring the new Words To Live By: Learn to Stamp.  I embossed the sentiment onto vellum cardstock.  I wanted a bit more color to pop so I embossed the learn in gold.

I embossed the sentiment and frame onto vellum cardstock.  I surrounded the sentiment with a vine and flowers die cut from the Garden Garland die set.

For the background, I stamped a couple of the smaller images from the new Stitching Garden set to create my own patterned paper.




For embellishment, I added rhinestones to the center of each flower.
