Transformation Tuesday - Summer Berries

Hi friends! I'm up over at the Papertrey Ink blog today, sharing my take on this week's Transformation Tuesday challenge!

One of my favorite things about the Transformation Tuesday challenge is that is helped me to view my cards differently. Sometimes there are cards that don't necessarily turn out the way I had pictured and it's fun to get a chance to try again. This card wasn't like that. In fact, it was one of my favorites. But being season specific (Christmas), the design was limited. I thought the design would work great for a bright summer card as well so I took this opportunity to give it a try! I used the summer version of the Beautiful Berries set and added in some Stitching Garden flowers for even more color. I love how this turned out and seeing as there is a Beautiful Berries set for every season I just might make a Fall and Spring one as well!

I created this card last October and it still is one of my favorite Christmas cards (you can see the original post HERE). I love the colored cardstock base with the white embossing as well as the placement of the Beautiful Berries. I couldn't wait to create a more season appropriate version of this!

I kept almost all of the design elements from my original card. I started with a colored cardstock base and top layer, except I used Raspberry Fizz instead of Pure Poppy. I stamped the background for a tone on tone look. I embossed the sentiment in white. I also used a die cut for the background layer. Finally, I used the same placement for the berries...I just added in quite a few flowers! :-)

The new Scallop Stackers: Large die was a perfect substitution for the background die cut. The scallops work well with the summer theme I was going for.

When stamping the Cover Up: Grid stamp I masked off the scallops so that the stamping was just on the inside rectangle. To achieve the tone on tone look I used Raspberry Fizz ink directly on the Raspberry Fizz cardstock.

To compliment the Beautiful Berries: Summer images, I added several flowers and leaves from the Stitching Garden stamp set.

Throwback Thursday - Hooray

Good morning friends! I'm participating in this week's Papertrey Ink Throwback Thursday! We are featuring the Hooray stamp set.

Hooray is one of those classic sets that can be used for just about any type of celebration! I mean, who doesn't love streamers!?! :-)

For my card today, I used the Hooray stamp set to create a masculine birthday card. I chose gray, black, and gold for the colors which are masculine but still elegant.

I embossed the streamers onto the background layer using both black and gold detail embossing powders. I die cut the 54 using the By the Numbers Mats die set. The Celebrate sentiment (from the Birthday Cheer die set) is die cut using the Luxe Gold Adhesive paper.

I added another sentiment (from the Hooray stamp set) that I embossed in gold on to a strip of True Black cardstock. For embellishment, I added a few scattered sequins.

Simple to Spectacular - Vintage Linens

Hi friends! I'm participating in today's Simple to Spectacular post! In this post, I will share with you three progressive card designs all featuring the Vintage Linens stamp set.

Oh how I love the Vintage Linens stamp set! With both the bold and outline images included, this set really lends itself to so many different styles. I have really been on a pink kick lately, so admittedly my cards today are very....well, pink! Ha!

I'm going to be honest and tell you that the simple cards are the hardest for me to make! I think I have an addiction to layers and it is HARD to not add them! So because I was trying to limit myself here, I decided to layer with ink instead. I used the Stencil Basics: Dots and Lovely Lady ink for the background.

The Celebrate die cut is from the Bold Borders: Wave die set.

For the intermediate version, I added a stamped sentiment from the Sentiment Staples: Birthday set underneath the die cut sentiment.

I used the Scallop Stackers: Medium die for the background layer. The flowers and stenciled polka dots are all the same.

For the stepped up version, I let my inner layer loving stamper out in full force! Ha! On top of the Scallop Stacker: Medium die cut I added another background layer. I embossed one of the Stitch In Time Borders onto both a white layer and a patterned paper layer (Bitty Big: Pink Posey). I cut the patterned paper layer so it would end underneath the flower trio.

I also added a white twine bow for embellishment.

Gina creates the loveliest floral sets! I love how realistic they look! They make me want to improve my coloring skills! :-)

For my card, I started by stamping the rose image onto Kraft cardstock and coloring them in with colored pencils. For the background, I used the new Mandala stencil (it's my absolute FAVORITE) to create a tone on tone look.

I cannot tell you how excited I am about the new Autumn Wreath Builder stamp set!! Two of my favorite things all in one wonderful package, Autumn and wreaths! If you are not familiar with Gina's genius Wreath Builder system, you can find more info HERE.

I think my favorite part of this new set is that there are so many images that can be used year round, making it so versatile!

It might be hard to see in the photo, but I used some rustic twine to stitch the flower centers. For the finishing touch, I splattered on some gold paint.

Oh goodness, how I adore Lisa's style and I am absolutely in love with the new Just a Little stamp set! Oh man, I am smitten with Alicia's flowers!! I adore how she illustrated this flower....it looks like it is coming right off of the card! :-) Not only is the flower lovely, but the set is full of a lot of beautiful sentiments!
