Hi there! It's my turn to host this week's Papertrey Ink Design Team Tips!
One of my favorite things to make and give as a gift is a card set! With Fall and the upcoming Holidays right around the corner, I find that I am always in need of small gifts to give! From hostess and Thanksgiving to neighbor or birthday gifts, a card set is always a good idea! Today I'm sharing one of my favorite ways to package a mini card set along with detailed instructions on how to create it.
My go-to packaging for mini note card sets it this little book holder. They are so fun to create and very easy to customize. Once you make a couple of them, you will be able to adjust the size of the pockets to accommodate different card thickness, sizes, or quantity.
For the outside cover, I decorated it using the Shape Shifters: Circle 3 die set, a sentiment from the Sentiment Staples: Thanksgiving stamp set, and the Stencil Basics: Diamonds stencil.
Here is a peek at the inside pockets. My cards are a bit thicker so I created a thicker pocket to hold them. I will share directions for this thicker one as well as a thinner one that would work for one layer cards.
I decorated each of the pockets with an image from the new Seasonal Borders: Autumn stamp set. I filled the left pocket with six envelopes and the right pocket with six mini cards. The envelopes are the 4" Kraft envelopes from Papertrey. The mini cards measure 3 3/4".
There are six cards, two each of these three designs. I kept the layout the same, just changing up the sentiment strip color as well as the sentiment. I chose three sentiments from the new You Made My Day stamp set. I added a pumpkin from the new Simply Gourd-eous stamp set.
On each envelope, I stamped one of the images from the new Seasonal Borders: Autumn stamp set.
For the cards, I used the two inner circle dies from the Shape Shifters: Circle 3 die set. I lined the inside of the card with Stamper's Select White cardstock for some contrast.
I stamped the sentiment using Dark Chocolate ink. For embellishment, I tied on some Rustic Jute Button Twine.
Here are the directions for the thicker card/envelope pockets...
To create the outside cover, you will need a piece of cardstock measuring 10 1/2" x 4 3/4". Score at 4 1/2" and 6".
NOTE: The size of the cardstock piece should measure 6 1/4" x 4". Sorry for the typo!
To make the Card Holder, start with a piece of cardstock measuring 6 1/4" x 4". Score on the lines indicated in the above photo. The light grey areas are the parts you will want to cut and discard. To assemble, fold on all score lines, add adhesive to the 1/4" outside flaps, fold, and adhere to the right side of your cover.
For the envelope holder, follow the same steps as above! That's it! Such an quick and easy way to create some custom card packaging!
If you prefer thinner pockets, you can see detailed instructions and photos HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
