Fairy Tale Christmas

Hi friends! It's that time of year...the release of the latest Make It Market Christmas Kit from Papertrey Ink!

The next Make It Market Kit, "Fairy Tale Christmas" will be released tomorrow, October 1st. Betsy's big holiday kit is one of the most highly anticipated releases for our customers each year. Each and every piece has been thoughtfully designed and selected to give you an endless amount of design options as you prepare for the holidays.

As in years past, we will be offering two separate kits, one full of the essential tools (main kit) and one with fun extras (trimmings kit).

The Fairy Tale Christmas Main Kit will be available for sale from October 1st at 10pm ET through December 1st 10pm ET or while supplies last at Papertrey Ink. It will not be available for sale after the December 1st deadline.
While we normally are able to ship orders within 48 hours, the shipping timeline could potentially be extended to as much as 2-3 weeks depending on how high the demand is and how much additional stock we will have to manufacture. We ask that everyone be patient and rest assured that their kit will arrive as quickly as possible.
The Fairy Tale Christmas Trimmings Kit will be available only as supplies last. It will not be restocked once initial supply is sold out.

Here are the projects that I created using this kit....

Oh my goodness, this kit!! LOVE!!! Two of my favorite things...Christmas and books all in one kit!! I mean, these boxes made to look like books! Gah!

I created these boxes using a combination of the pre-printed papers, dies, and items from the Trimmings kit.

I love how Betsy included details on the dies...like the little lines on the book spine.

On the inside of the box, I stenciled on snowflakes (from the Fairy Tale Stencil Collection).

I die cut the book corners from Luxe Gold paper. I tied each box closed using twine and one of the Ring Fasteners (included in the Trimmings Kit).

It's so great that the pre-printed images come in different colors, matching the pre-printed book covers.

I embellished each of the boxes with some of the sequins from the Trimmings Kit.

These boxes are perfectly sized for gift cards or other small treats!

My next project is a set of two tags. I used the pre-printed paper, stamps, and dies.

I added glitter to part of the focal die cuts and embellished with one of the pre-printed greenery images so that they stand out a bit more.

On the inside, I used more of the stamps to create the tag part.

For my first card, I combined: the stencils, stamps, dies, and items from the Trimmings kit. I started with the holly leaves and berries stencils. For the berries, I used the Nuvo gold Mousse (included in the Trimmings Kit). I love how it looks on darker cardstock!

For the focal image, I embossed one of the sentiments from the Fairy Tale stamp set. I die cut it out using two of the circle dies. Using more of the dies, I cut out one of the pre-printed rectangles.

I embellished with some stamped and die cut greenery as well as some of the Red Velvet ribbon from the Trimmings kit.

For my final card, I created a shaker card using one of the small bubbles included in the main kit. I started by stenciling the trees onto a piece of patterned paper (also included in the main kit).

I added some of the pre-printed images (die cut with the included die set) to the center of one of the small bubbles as well as some artificial snow and small beads (included in the Trimmings kit).

I embellished the card with some stamped and die cut images (greenery and snowflakes).

Throwback Thursday - Mighty Oak

Hi there! It's Throwback Thursday over at the Papertrey blog! Today we are featuring the Mighty Oak stamp set.

Leaves and trees are some of my favorite images! They are perfect for year round occasions, not just Autumn! I especially love how many different leaf patterns included in this set!

I chose to create a graphic card with more modern colors. By changing up the accent color (Terracotta Tile), this would be a great combo for just about any occasion or recipient!

For the white background, I die cut the Mix & Mat: Pinked Edge Die. I framed that by die cutting the Pierced Feature Frames from True Black cardstock. When creating more simple cards, I love the option of adding die cuts with details like the piercing on these. :-)

For the sentiment, I stamped one of the included sentiments from the Mighty Oak set onto a die cut rectangle (from the Noted: Simply Stitched die set).

Make It Monday - Faux Gilded Leaves

Good morning! For this week's Make It Monday, I'm sharing a technique called Faux Gilded Leaves. With just a few different embossing powder needed for supplies, this is something every stamper can make!

For my card, I used the Leaf Prints stamp set for the focal image. This set contains both the bold and detail leaf images, which work perfectly for this technique!

I used platinum, gold, and copper embossing powders on the leaves. For the background, I stamped the new Text & Texture: Wood Slices stamp onto Kraft cardstock using Kraft ink.

The sentiment is from the Words to Live By: Gratitude stamp and die set.

Papertrey Ink September Release - Day 5

Welcome back to the fifth and final day of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown posts! I hope you have enjoyed all of the projects you have seen over these past several days!

Today I'm sharing projects created with the Seasonal Borders: Winter and Penned Elegance: Christmas. All of the new products being showcased today will be available September 15th at 10 pm ET

One of my favorite things about Betsy's Seasonal Borders series is that she not only includes the die for a long border, but also includes several smaller images such as the ones I used to create this wreath with! It makes the kit so versatile!

I stamped and die cut quite a few of the holly and pine sprigs and then adhered them in a circle using the Shape Shifters: Oval 3 die cut as a guide. For some added color, I tucked in several of the snowflakes that are also included in this set!

The sentiment is from the new Penned Elegance: Christmas stamp set. I just adore Jennifer Campbell's hand letting and am excited to have this set for Christmas!

Papertrey Ink September Release - Day 4

Welcome back to the fourth day of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown posts! For several days leading up to the release we will be sharing with you so many lovely new products perfect for all of your Holiday projects and more!

Today I'm sharing projects created with the Dashing Through the Snow Collection and Glorious Globes: September set. All of the new products being showcased today will be available September 15th at 10 pm ET

My first project was inspired entirely my youngest son Luke! His favorite books are the Little Blue Truck books! Trust me, we have them all! Ha! When I saw his book Little Blue Truck's Halloween (by Jill McElmurry) sitting out on his shelf I thought Betsy's new Dashing Through the Snow: Pickup Truck would be so fitting to create a treat inspired by the famous blue truck!

I've always known Betsy was a genius, but seriously these new packaging die sets are aaaaammmmazing! There are quite a few dies included with each set but I was so surprised at how easy it was to assemble! These assemble quickly enough that they would be great as party favors or place settings!

I added some epoxy dots to the tire centers and headlights for a bit of added dimension. Gah! I just can't stand it...it's such a cute little truck!!

The sentiment on the back of the truck is from the new Dashing Through the Snow Sentiments set.

I don't want to spoil the book for you (wink wink) but the Little Blue Truck ends up dressing up as a sweet little ghost so I decided to decorate the treats to match the story. The ghost and sentiment on the tag are from the previously released Grins & Ghouls stamp set.

My next card features the following new products: Glorious Globes: September, Say it Simply: Holly Jolly die, and Shape Shifters: Oval 3 die set.

For the background, I started by die cutting all three dies from the Shape Shifters: Oval 3 die set from Ocean Tides cardstock. I backed it with some white cardstock so that it would stand out a bit more against the Kraft cardstock base.

For the sentiment, I die cut the Say it Simply: Holly Jolly die three ties and then adhered them on top of the die cut oval. I like the added dimension that extra die cut layers gives. :-)
