Welcome back to the third day of the Papertrey Ink October release countdown posts! Over the next several days we will be sharing with you so many lovely new products perfect for all of your Holiday projects and more!
Today I'm featuring the Bold Borders: Flurries die set and Warmer Together stamp and die set. All of the new products being showcased today will be available October 15th at 10 pm ET.
Penguins!! Ack!! Is there anything cuter than these sweet guys? I love them! The new Warmer Together set is perfect for both holiday and winter projects!
For the background, I die cut and layered the new Bold Borders: Flurries die using Pure Poppy cardstock. I die cut the Joy sentiment (also included in the Bold Borders: Flurries die set) out of Pure Poppy cardstock as well.
Using the Warmer Together stamp set, I stamped and die cut two penguins. I also layered one of the sentiments from the Warmer Together set underneath the die cut Joy.
For the white oval layer, I used the Shape Shifters: Oval 1 die set and Stamper's Select White cardstock. The snowflakes are from the previously released Silver White Winter die set.
One of my favorite things about the Bold Borders die sets are how easy and quick it is to create a gorgeous and detailed card! The die truly does all of the work!
For the focal image I stamped and die cut foliage form the new Sending Joy stamp and die set. I layered the die cut Joy (also included in the Bold Borders: Flurries die set) over the foliage. I added a sentiment from the Sending Joy stamp set underneath the Joy die cut.
For the background, I die cut the Bold Borders: Flurries die using Stamper's Select White cardstock. I sponged on some gold ink to the bottom portion of the die cut.
For embellishment, I adhered a few red sequins and added a gold bow.
I couldn't choose which penguin/s from the Warmer Together set to use so I decided to include all four on my card! I started by die cutting them out of Kraft cardstock. I then stamped the solid penguin layer using Fresh Snow ink. The other colors (Weathervane, True Black) layered very well on top of the white pigment ink.
I die cut the Mat Stack: Pinked Edge die using Kraft cardstock for the top layer. After stamping the sentiment (also from the Warmer Together stamp set) I layered on some hearts (die cut using the Warmer Together die set).
I wanted to add some sparkle to create an icy look so I added some chunky white glitter along the bottom. To ensure that the kraft cardstock didn't peek through I first sponged on some Fresh Snow ink.
When I created this card, I had a certain look in mind but had a hard time finding the perfect background. After my card was finished I realized that I could have created the PERFECT background using the Perfect Plaid Stencil Collection! Not only would they allow me to use the colors I wanted but it would be easy to mass produce as well! I definitely plan on creating more cards just like this using the stencils!
