Yay for the weekend! :-) I'm participating in this week's Saturday Showcase feature over at the Papertrey Ink blog. This week we are sharing projects created with the Make It Market: Color Pop Butterfly mini kit.
I can't believe that this is my first time playing with this kit! I mean, where have I been? Gorgeous butterflies, patterned papers, coordinating stamps and dies, and a scripty sentiment die...it's just perfection!! Oh, there are even stencils included! Yes, this is a must have kit!
So I actually didn't do any stamping on my cards (gasp!). All of the images are from the printed sheets included in the kit. I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. I really love how they are printed on linen cardstock...it gives them such a luxurious look and feel!
I only added glue to the very middle of the butterflies so that I could bend the wings up a bit. I think the added dimension helps add movement to the card.
For the background, I sponged on Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, and Harvest Gold inks. After spritzing with water I splattered on some dark pink watercolor paint.
One of my favorite things about this kit (besides the gorgeous sripty sentiment - I seriously LOVE that) is the sweet little banner die and coordinating sentiment stamps!
After die cutting the So Happy sentiment, I sponged the bottom portion with coordinating ink.
On this card, I used Tropical Teal, Aqua Mist, Blueberry Sky, and Spring Rain inks.
