Ink to Paper Favorites - Black & White Hello

Hi there!  I'm back with another Ink to Paper Favorites Challenge! 

I have always been enamored with black and white.  Art, photography, movies, and paper crafts...it all is so stunning in black & white!  With paper crafts alone, there are so many different variations using just those two colors.  From a mostly white background with hints of black to all black with splashes of white (or anything in between), the options really are vast!  This week we are challenging you to create a black & white project.  Choose your favorite way to showcase these two neutral colors!

One of the best things about embossing images with white embossing powder on black cardstock is that it works for so many different kinds of images!  Bold, open line, elegant, graphic, or whimsical...they all work so well!

 

After embossing images from the Nature's Background Essentials and the Hello sentiment (from Essential Sentiments set), I splattered on some white paint.  For embellishment I adhered several black sequins on.

Design Team Tips - Tag Gift Holder

Hi friends!  I'm sharing a project today for this week's Ink to Paper's Design Team Tips. 

I'm sharing one of my favorite ways to package and gift tags.  Not only are tags quick and easy to create, but they make a delightful gift as well! 

The packaging that I came up with is just a simple covered pocket. 

I decorated the front using the Garden Party stamp and die set.

 

The flowers are from the Tag Creations:Blooming Indulgence die set (one of my fall time fave die sets).

Here's a peek at the inside pocket.  Make sure to scroll all the way down to the end of this post for the pocket template.

 

Before attaching it to the white cardstock, I stamped the pocket with Aqua Mist ink using the Loosely Woven stamp set.

 

I created five tags using the same color theme as the front of the packaging.

 

For the first tag, I die cut the tag from the Tag Creations: Blooming Indulgence die set.  I then stamped the tag using the Loosely Woven set.  The sentiment is from the Simply Sentiments set.

 

For the next tag, I started by die cutting the Tag Sale: Quilted die.  I stamped several images from the Beachy Keen set.  The die is from the To Die For Sentiments: Byline For You die.

I couldn't create tags and not include any from the Tag Creations: Lemon set!  This set definitely makes tag making SO easy!

My next card features from flowers from he Tag Creations: Blooming Indulgence die set.  The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments set.

My final tag features the same stamps and dies as the tag above.  The tag shape is from die cut from the Minute To Make: Holiday Tags die set.

 

Here is the template for the pocket.  Once you have prepared the pocket, glue it to the inside of the outer white cover.  To create this cover, cut a piece of cardstock measuring 9 1/2" x 4 3/4".  Score this at 4 1/2" an 5".

Ink to Paper Favorites - Favorite July Release

 

Hi there!  I'm back with another Ink to Paper Favorites Challenge! 

One of my favorite things about Ink to Paper release week, is seeing all of the gorgeous eye candy the design team shares! I am always inspired and find myself wanting to recreate many of the projects I see! So, this week we are challenging you to recreate or CASE a project that was shared during the July release week!

I was inspired by Kelly's beautiful card!  You can see her original card and post HERE.  I have always been a fan of Kelly's work...she has such an eye for color and design!  The moment I saw this card I knew I wanted to create one like it!  SO gorgeous!

I seriously LOVE this layout!  I love this die (On The Border: Floral Bliss) so much!  I want to make a million of these cards!  Ha!  That Kelly is a genius!  :-)

I started by die cutting two of the borders (from the On The Border: Floral Bliss die set) from watercolor paper.  I then quickly added some watercolor paint.  I think this might be my favorite way to add color to detail die cuts...mainly because it is so fast!  :-)

Just like Kelly did, I splattered on some paint on the background.  I switched up the color to black, because you all know how I feel about a dark background!  ❤️

The sentiment is from the new Pleasing Envelopes: Special Delivery stamp set.

Ink to Paper July Release - Day 4

Welcome back to the fourth and final day of the July Ink to Paper release posts!  There are some fabulous new products being released this month and for the next several days we will be sharing projects created with them. All of the new products will be available tomorrow, July 15th at 10 pm ET!

Today we are featuring the following new products:  Pleasing Envelopes: Special Delivery, Just Sentiments: Birthday, and On The Border: Floral Bliss die set.

My first project is a card and envelope set created with the Pleasing Envelopes: Special Delivery set, Just Sentiments: Birthday set, and On The Border: Floral Bliss die set.

To create the card, I die cut the card sized border (from the On The Border: Floral Bliss die set) and layered it on the same Pure Poppy colored card base.  The sentiment is from the Just Sentiments: Birthday set.  I adore the fonts in this set so much!  They are perfectly sized as well...they would work for either a focal point (like my card here) or as a secondary image.

The Pleasing Envelopes: Special Delivery is definitely a favorite of mine from this release!  The gorgeous banner, flowers, and especially the leaves...I love them all!

 

 

 

 

For my next card, I chose several of the images from the Pleasing Envelopes: Special Delivery set.  I started by stamping the address lines image vertically several times to create a striped pattern.  I then stamped one of the leaves images repeatedly to complete the background.

I wanted to create a peek-a-boo type of effect, so I cut off the top part of the card front.  After ink sponging some color onto it, I adhered the floral border (from the On The Border: Floral Bliss die set) in place of the discarded card front part.

I did some selective inking to get the sentiment I wanted for this card.  I just added ink to the part I wanted to stamp and omitted the rest.  :-)  I stamped the sentiment onto one of the banner die cuts (from the Banner Builder: Basic die set) and layered it just beneath the floral border.

 

 

 

 

My final project is a trio of monochromatic cards that I created using the On The Border: Floral Bliss die set.  I am completely smitten with this border set!!  This will go so well with so many of the other Ink to Paper floral stamp and die sets already released!  I can't wait to play around with them some more!

 

I added a bit of coordinating ink sponging in the center of the card.  For this card, I used Dark Indigo.

 

For the sentiment, I die cut the To Die Fore Sentiments: Boxed-in Thanks, ink sponged the bottom, and layered it onto a coordinating piece of cardstock.  For this card, I chose Harvest Gold as the main color.

I get asked pretty often how I attach detailed die cuts like this one to my cards.  I like to use a spray adhesive, which I linked below in case you want to see what I use.  I do this for several reasons, but the most important one is that it is fast!  Ha!  Just a word of caution though...make sure to use it outside or with proper ventilation.  :-)

Ink to Paper July Release - Day 3

Welcome back to the third day of the July Ink to Paper release posts!  There are some fabulous new products being released this month and for the next several days we will be sharing projects created with them. All of the new products will be available July 15th at 10 pm ET!

Today we are featuring the following new products:  Beachy Keen, Simply Sweet: Hello, and Inside Greetings: Endearing Birthday.

My first card features the new Beachy Keen stamp set and coordinating die set.  You all know how much I love layered stamps!  They make it so easy to create images with depth!

 

For the background, I stamped the previously released Loosely Woven stamp onto the Tropical Teal background.  For the sun, I die cut a large circle and blended some ink on it in various shades of yellow and orange.

I love the variety of sentiments included in this set!  To add to the beach look, I tore a piece of white cardstock ink blended with Kraft ink and added it to the bottom of the card.

 

 

 

My next card also features the Beachy Keen stamp set.  This one was a lot of fun to create!  I chose some tropical colors (orange, green, and teal) for the tree colors.

 

For the background, I chose a piece of patterned paper from my stash.  I die cut the edge using one of the dies from the Nesting Basics: Pierce Rectangles.

The sentiment is from the To Die For: Cursive Thanks die set.  For embellishment, I added some white paint splatters as well as a few white jewels.

 

 

 

 

For my next card, I created a night beach scene.  I stamped the trees in grays and black to give them a silhouette look. 

Using Distress Oxide inks, I blended several colors together to look like a vibrant tropical sunset.  For a bit more detail, I splattered on some gold paint.

 

 

 

 

My final card features the new Simply Sweet: Hello stamp set.

Using the square flower image I created a mosaic of sorts.  I chose bright, fun colors for the flowers.

 

I stamped one of the sentiments from the Inside Greetings: Endearing Birthday set on the inside of my card.
