Happy Tuesday friends! Today I'm sharing a new project for Ink to Paper's Transformation Tuesday feature!
Normally for this feature, I choose a project that never turned out as well as hoped. You know the kind. The ones that are WAY better in your head than they end up being in real life. I love this feature because usually a bit of time and thought about what changes to make is all that is needed to improve it!
This week I chose to go a different route. I chose a card that I loved! I decided to take some of my favorite things about my card and create a new one!
Here is the card that I chose for inspiration. I love the bright rainbow colors and just had to use the flowers from the You Make Me Happy set again! You can see the original post HERE.
For my new card, I again used the bright rainbow colors as well as the flowers from the You Make Me Happy stamp set. Like my original card, I added several black accents.
For the background, I started by embossing the Loosely Woven stamp using white embossing powder onto watercolor paper. I then added a rainbow watercolor wash.
After the background was dry, I added matching flowers to each color. For embellishment, I added black jewels to each flower center.
For the sentiment, I added a small strip with the "just wanted to say" sentiment (from the Simply Sweet: Hello). The large thanks is from the To Die For Sentiments: Cursive Thanks die.
I love adding glitter to die cuts, especially to the bottom half. I have always disliked how the glitter spreads to other parts of the card so I came up with a solution for that! I used one of my empty embossing powder jars (although you could also use a small tupperware type container) and mixed together clear embossing powder and a fine prismatic glitter. To apply this to your die cuts, just add Versamark ink to the part of the die cut you wish to glitterfy (yep, that's now a word 😉). Then sprinkle on your new custom embossing powder and then heat set! Voila! You get all the pretty, sparkly glitter without any of the mess!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
