Hey friends! Long time no post! :-) How are you? Are you all hanging in there? I will admit that things for us here haven't changed much. I mean, if there was ever a time where living way out in the middle of nowhere would come in handy...well, it's now! :-) This is not the case for a majority of the country though. Many friends and family members are really struggling. I'm sure this is the same for most of you as well! Good thing that as card makers, we have been "training" for this most of our card making lives! We have the ability to send some sunshiney (I'm sure that's a word no matter what spell correct says 😂) encouragement to those that need it most!
Over at the Ink To Paper blog, they are hosting a challenge to help us create paper hugs and share them with those that could really use it right now! You can find all of the details on their BLOG.
You all know how much I love flowers, right? I mean, what' not to love!?! They bring a smile to my face whenever I see them and that's exactly the thing that I want to share with others. It's a great thing that Papertrey and Ink To Paper have so many gorgeous flower images!
Today I'm sharing with you how I approach mass producing cards.
I like to create most cards in multiples. I usually sit down to create for a very specific purpose like a loved one's birthday or special a special thank you. I take that opportunity to create a few duplicates while I have my supplies out.
To start, I usually try and choose designs that aren't too complicated or involved. That is probably subjective, because I tend to prefer more layered cards (((grin))). For this card, the only layer is the main sentiment focal image.
I started by creating each of the different elements. I will admit that using a stamp positioner like a MISTI is a life saver! You only have to place the stamp once and just change out the paper. It is a definitely time saver!
I chose some happy, uplifting colors (pinks and yellows). The first thing I stamped was the background, using the Birthday Bouquet stamp set. I also die cut some leaves from the Birthday Bouquet die set and tucked them under the focal image. You could also just stamp the leaves if you prefer.
After the flowers were stamped, I splattered on some dark blue paint for a bit of added texture. When trying to limit the amount of paper layers, I like to layer using ink. :-)
I then adhered the labels. I die cut and embossed the labels using the Framing Florals stamp and die set. I added an additional sentiment (You're Amazing) from the Just Sentiments: Tagged set.
So, what do you think? Are you someone that likes to create cards in multiples or do you create one of a kind creations? No matter what you choose, if your creation features a flower, make sure to link it up over at the Ink to Paper blog!
Lots and lots of hugs,
Laurie
